Why Do All Good Things Come To An End? My Favourite Radio Show Ends Next Week!!

I've been listening to Flashback on AM 740 http://www.am740.ca for years. The station was sold recetly, and the Monday night program has been canceled (or it will be at the end of last week's show). That wonderful radio program of fantastic old music, hosted by my good friend Brian Peroff, has gotten me through a lot of depressing times, and made me into one of the rare people who really looked forward to Mondays. You can click here to listen to the show's themesong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tZxqtX1NUY I love that song!! I will always remind me of why I used to love Monday nights.

Hi danish, I agree with you! I have experienced that also before and I was very sad and affected when one of my favorite programs on radio was stopped..It made me change my outlook of any programs after that, I tried to control myself to like or love other programs since I will just be disappointed when it will be over! Thanks for sharing the link! I will check it after posting this response!

We always remember things that have been part of our life and had one way or another supported us when times are not at their best. I am sorry that they canceled your program. EVerything nowadays survives only when making big money and when it doesn't it's disregarded as if it never existed. But you will keep the program in your memory and that will be something, at least.

Maybe if you check the airwaves you can find something else that is similar to what that station delivers. Probably not the same. They are never the same. Sorry to hear that you are losing something that is a comfort to you. Sorry that you are going to lose a "friend".

I am so sorry one of your favorites is going. It is a same when you have become attached. Tonight.. I am at the other end of that spectrum.. one of the best radio stations (my opinion of course) and my all time favorite went of the air about 10-15 years ago. They now have an internet station and I am happy to say they have not changed the vast array of music that they used to play. So I feel for you, but like others have said.. maybe there will be a similar one that you can find soon.

Maybe it so we can find that it has true value. If we always have it, we may not always realize it.

Hi my friend, so sorry to hear you are going through a tough time and then the radio station also goes away too. I remember when one of the radion station i was listening to disappeared. I wonder what happen to them, and for awhile I thought I was on the wrong station because it was static until recently I found out they closed . I hope you can find another radio station to boost your monday.

I'm sorry that you have to now be sad on Mondays. I don't know anything about AM radio but maybe another channel will pick your show up. And soon your husband will be there and I'm sure he will help you pass your Monday nights.

I'm listening to the theme song and it sounds really great! In my opinion good things come to an end because it's the only way we could see and appreciate how good is a show. It is very similar when Calvin asked Hobbes why does the snow needs to end. Hobbes just answered that if it were snowing everyday then it wouldn't be beautiful because you'll get so used to it. I think that it's nice that you were able to appreciate the show before it went off-air.
