When you are tired...

When you are tired, do you sleep like a baby? Or do you find it hard dozing off? There are times when I am very tired that I sleep like a baby. Like when I am too tired and instead of changing into my PJs, I would just lie down. After a few minutes, I an already asleep. The next thing I know, my alarm clock just goes off. Oopps! It's morning already! But there are also times when no matter how dog-tired I am, I find it hard to doze off. It's like my system is still very active and would like to just stay awake the rest of the night. How about you?

I sleep like a baby most of the time and usually read in bed just before closing my eyes and it doesn't usually take me long to drop off. Some nights though if I get woken I will not be able to get back to sleep and wake up still tired, also if it is very hot I will toss and turn and not be able to get off to sleep so easily. Ellie :D

I also feel the same way sometimes. There are times when I doze off because I am very tired but still feel tired when I wake up.

Physical tiredness does not get me to sleep that easily. My brains still seems all charged up. Its when I've been through a lot of mental strain or a lot of concentration that I tend to feel sleepy.

My sleep patterns are all over the place. Sometimes I sleep well, sometimes I toss and turn. I can sleep very badly all night and be so tired then get perfect sleep for the last two hours and feel wonderful. I'm lucky though, I always feel good in the mornings and I have very little trouble getting up early...usually. We are having an exceptionally cold winter this year and I often feel like snuggling. Even the cat isn't getting up for breakfast, preferring to stay on my nice warm bed.

Hi dolce_vita! There are times that I feel that way too with regards to just dozing off; however, when I know that I am really exhausted and sleepy, I readily change into my PJs. haha..And there are also those times, that when even if I am so sleepy I can't just fall asleep. When this happens, I am really frustrated..and the more I wanted to sleep, the more my mind gets active. haha.. Take care always..God Bless!

Most of the time, when I'm tired I sleep like a log.Nobody can really wake me up, not even my husband!hehehe. He understand it anyway because he knows that it's my way of refreshing after a whole day's toil. But there are also times when i'm tired but I feel so restless. Mostly this happens when kids' stuff chores are involved. Happy posting!

it takes me some time to get to sleep so i play a game sorta like scattegories, i pick a subject and go through each letter (it sounds lame but does help). i dont sleep all that well and usually wake up tired. last night i could go to sleep that well because my knees were sore.

There are times when i can shut my body down and get to sleep immediately but it seems that my body was greatly influenced by the physical trainings i had when i was still in college. It made me so full of energy that sometimes it's not easy for me to doze off even if my body is already limping for a bed.

When I am tired I do fall asleep but do not seem to get resting sleep. I find that I wake up absolutely shattered as if I have not been to sleep at all. I have been like this for the past couple of days and it makes me feel so rough!

I've haven't slept like a baby in years. I wish I could get back to that state. My sleeping patterns seem to be different each day. Sometimes I wake up every 20 to 45 minutes and then I find it hard to get back to sleep. I'm an extremely light sleeper too. A door shutting or pin dropping and I'm up, lol.

That is very true and I experience that some times. Once, I really worked hard that day and I started it very early, an hour ahead of my regular day of work. It went on until an hour before midnight, almost fifteen hours of typing, thinking of new ideas, etc. I still found a hard time to rest, even my mind was still up. Two hours after midnight, I remember I was still watching a show on tv. But then I don't remember who turned off and it was already morning and time to work again.

It depends. Sometimes I'd just doze off, once my head hit the pillow. Other times, like when we were having a major event (like a conference or roadshow), I'd be very exhausted, and longed for rest and sleep. However, once the event is over, that urge to sleep is not there - we'd go and have some drinks, relax and generally let our hair down. The tiredness still wouldn't register, not even when I reached home, until maybe 2 or 3 hours later. But after that, I'd most probably sleep straight for maybe 10 hours or more, before waking up.

When I am really tired,I easily fall asleep.I usually get tired when I come home from travel especially if we work in the field or on weekends when I'm finished doing the household chores. So I just change into my sleep clothes, brush my teeth then go to bed.

When I am tired, I just lay down and go to sleep, right away. If I am not really tired, I'm just bored, and would have a hard time sleeping. That's why I go to sleep with the radio on, so I will have osmething to do until I get tired, to keep me from getting board. When i'm bored I have a hard time sleeping, tired, no problem sleeping.

Hi Dolce, how are you? I have been very tired these past few days because it's that time of the month for me. I find I sleep in a lot more and dose off during the day too. I have also been really busy over the last month and a bit with my son and family visiting from New Zealand. I'm still recovering from their trip, but had a great time overall.

I do have this problem. But, when that happens to me, it is because of one of two, or both, things. Either I am ovulating or pre-menstrual. Or, I ate too late in the evening. Either or both of those things have been known to have me tossing and turning even as late as 4, 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning. So, my suggestion is, when this happens to you, try to remember or figure out if it could be cyclical (are you ovulating or pre-menstrual) or did you eat or ingest anything too late in the evening. And, it could even be just what you ate. Some foods have a better tendency to keep us wound up more than others. Spicy foods, sugary foods, heavier foods. So, just try to keep track of when it happens. That may be helpful for you to try to get some control over it. If it is related to your cycle, try to do things that will literally wear you out. Exercise, do a lot of errands, work a little harder. Do everything that comes to mind, and try not to snack or eat too late as that won't help anything. I can't promise that it will fix the problem but, it can't hurt. Trust me...I feel your pain. I have about a week and a half of 2 weeks out of every month where I just have to fight the insomnia and, I refuse to take any kind of medicine to help me sleep because I know that stuff is addictive. I know someone who is struggling to get off Ambien and try to sleep without it. So, I refuse to do that to myself and make matters worse. Take care and I hope that you figure out what keeps you up! I hope this was helpful!

Many times I faced this situation and the reason that I sometimes find it hard to sleep although I'm so very tired is that I had some coffee or a power drink before going to sleep :P Many times I find it hard to sleep because I can not stop thinking of the activity I was doing before going to sleep and which made me tired. For example, sometimes I'm so tired cos I had an exam or something and when I go and try to sleep - all what I've studied comes back to my mind and keeps playing over and over like a song :S Cant think of other reasons now but there are many I guess :D Thanks for sharing and Happy MyLotting
