I do not really have to worry about it because i have cable, but what do you think about it. My hubby think it is something wierd. That the government is doing something. We called out cable company to try and find out why they are doing it and they said it was becuase the old analog waves were interfering with airplanes??WTF?? but if you go to the gov. site it says something else is the reason.

I'm pretty indifferent to it. I barely turn the TV on nowadays, so come 2009, it'll be sitting there still turned off, but in much higher definition.

yeh I think it is just the way of technology always moving omn, like with the computer I have been stressing out as my techy has suggested it is time to go Vista but I was told yesterday they are already working on the vista replacement and that is the one to wait for...it just all comes down to money i think.

Hi, sweetpeasmom! This change really makes me furious. They keep telling us in all the commercials that it's like the change from black and white to color years ago. The difference, though, is huge. If a person didn't get a color TV, they could still get their programs in back and white. Not so now. I usually have the TV on if I'm home alone, but I couldn't tell you what's on. I watch the news and a couple of favorite programs, but I don't have cable or sattelite dish because I can't see the point in paying for TV. Now we'll all have to pay for TV and for new sets! This is so not right! In addition, just about everyone in Floorida has little battery-operated TVs to keep up with the new, etc., during storms. Now they're going to be useless! My house is very large, and except for me, everyone is a TV junkie, so we'll be throwing away seven TVs and two little 5" batter-operated ones. Even if we were to buy converters, we'd still be charged for what's meant to be free!
