People say that I'm like my mom. I take that as a compliment because my mom was really a very good person. She had her own shortcomings but those are overshadowed by the good things she has done. I'm not saying this just because she's my mom. I've met her students who still remember her kindness and her positive aura. I've only seen her get really angry once. She gave me freedom to do whatever I wanted with the reminder that she trusts me and not break that trust. That was enough to make me toe the line. She's gone now but her spirit lives in me. What's the best thing about your own mom?

When I was younger I resented my mother's strictness. But as I grew up I came to understand and gradually appreciate what she was trying to do for me. Now she is much older, frailer, and it seems to me the tables are turning. It is my turn to take care of her. But as I grow older I find myself becoming more like her. I see her in me, even down to the occasional crankiness!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Yes, I thank God for the opportunity of being with my mother. Sometimes I forget that these few years are priceless. But I do try to make it up to her.

My mum is a good friend, and a good companion, she has a good sense of humour and she has worked really hard all of her life for others, and nows the time for others to do as much as they can for her!she really is someone who has done her very best, and I congratulate her on that. Its not always that as Mums ..or Dads that we get things right, but she has for a good percentage of the time.
