What is the farthest job away from home you had?

What is the farthest job away from home you had? I envy my colleague that live only 2miles away from the office. My commute is 30 miles one way. I never had a job that was close to home. Unless I change field. How about you? What is the closest and farthest. Would you consider switching career field, and pay cut of 5% or more a year to save on time and fuel? but of course I envy those that can stay home with their kids even more. Nothing beats being a stay at home for the kids

2 1/2 hours is horrible commute time. Lucky for you that you are closer to work. I wish I can have that chance too. I do need to sleep and rest more.

I am working about 20 miles from home. I hate spending so much money on gas. The traffic is horrible and makes getting to and from work a pain. I miss being a house wife. But tough times call for tough measures and I had to go back into the work force. I am working through a temp agency until I can find something full time and permanent. I hope it is something closer to home with better pay. Back when I worked before I became a house wife I worked about a mile away from my home. I am trying to get back on at that place it pays a lot better and my money would not be going into the gas tank as bad.

Oh definetely, miserable for me. i hate having to get up so much earlier just to sit and idle on the road due to accidents or bad traffic lights etc. I wish you do find permanent jobs and one that is closer to home for you. Good luck.
