Is ite legal to buy comic books

actually guys, i think some of you(like me) have misread his statement he said buying comics is banned in his "county",not country. i first thought it weird that a country would ban buying comics until i reread it again. it's actually not so crazy, since i read a lot of weird things that are against the law in some states of the US. solecat are you still in kansas?

Since when have commics been banned in the United States? This is the first I've ever heard of this. When did this happen, and who enacted the law? Why would they be illegal? What is wrong with them? If the book was about terrorism I might see it, but what's wrong with a plan old comic book?

It is legal to buy them here in the USA. I know it is legal in Canada, Mexico, Great Britian, and Japan.

In Italy they are legal and there are some comic books shops. I think that they aren't danger to children but the biggest problem is the tv because there are many bad programs and movies that are more danger that a comic book

I am so sorry to hear that comic books are banned in your country. Here in the USA they seem to be all over the place! *laugh* I've only bought and read a few in my time, but I can't see what it is about them that would cause them to be banned anywhere. Maybe banned from children bringing them to school! That makes sense to me.. but banned in an entire country? That makes me kind of sad.

awts... here in my country it isnt illegal to buy comic books... check your laws, you dont want to end up in jails just because of comic books or just try to download them.

It is legal i think, and i dont remember that they banned it in the US, maybe in some places they banned the comic books that contains terror, or crime. I am now here in the phillipines,studying and comic books are not banned here. I like to read comic books about teens, and girly stuff.

I must know where you from. It's got to be Alabama, the Carolinas, or Wyoming (somwhere backward). Why did they ban them? Who advocated for that? I would gather that people did that because they were afraid of graphic arts as a tool for social change.

i didnt know comics were banned in any country.. our children population here thrives on comics and they r sold everywhere from book shops to roadsides.. i myself love reading them from time to time..

Some of my favorite ones are banned everywhere. Did you ever see Fat Freddie's Cat? I was surprised to see an article about that one on Wikipedia. All comics were banned in my childhood home, which was annoying to me, but absolutely bugged the bleep out of my brothers. They would sneak them into the house, but the comics cop (our mom) always found and destroyed them. She was the kind who cut photos out of the National Geographic articles, too, which was quite vexing, because then you couldn't read the article on the back of the page. Ackkk, I loathe and detest censorship of that sort.
