Do You Have Any Scars

I had my gall bladder out when I was in my thirties because I have a big stomach the doctor said the scar is much bigger than usual. The scar looks like a butcher came after me, even a different doctor once asked "who was the butcher that did that?" It is all the way across my stomach, like the mark of zorro but only one diagonal line from top to bottom. It looks hideous, and it is over 20 years old, but I bleached it and it is much lighter than it was before thank god for that. My friend just had a moll removed from her face. It was cancerous. The face is the worst place to have a scar, you can't hid it. It looks awful, but hopefully in time it will be less apparent as well. And the hurt well who can judge when that will go away, it was an operation and cutting into the skin hurts, there is no doubt about that. But she is so right when she says "it still beats having cancer." Do you have any scars from surgery, accidents, fights?

I have a lot. lol I got it when I was still young and very playful. No day passes without me getting wounded. And when i gave birth via ceasarian section. But it is okay. It doesn't makes me ugly. But reminded me of my being so curious in life. And of course, being a mom.

I think that scars are my birth mark for I have all kinds of scars form fights , dogs toenails, welding burns, Hysterectomy , appendix, Breats removed and one in the groing where they went and put the stants in my heart. all mine turned white. and I pay no attention to them they are there and cant get rid of them. The thing I hate is the poyuches of left over skin that is left under my arms was in hope with exercises that I was doing would have took up the sack but nope didnt!

I have a ugly scar on my face across my left eyebrow. My husband beat me with a wooden baseball bat and the bat broke and cut my face.It took 7 stitches and left a mark that I will have forever. It is much better than it was but my eyebrows wont grow back over it where the nurse had to shave them to do the stitching.

Oh my goodness neelygal, that is horrible. I'm sure the inner scar is much worse than the outside scar. I feel you are lucky to be alive and I sure hope he is paying his dues for doing that to you.

He actually is a very nice man,a good father and a good husband. At the time we were going through some issues and he was letting other people influence his actions. He was lucky that I didnt have him thrown in jail and he has never hit me again. It happened on our 8th anniversary. That was 3 years ago so I have forgiven him but I will never forget it.

I have some on my knees, elbows, hands and chest. I was a small kid who loved to go to adventures when I was still young. I fell off a tree and that is why I have scars on my chest, I had a bad reaction when they were removing a mole on my hand and it spread and when they were able to remove all of it I have a couple of scars now, and finally my most beloved story was the scar on my elbow and knees. We were racing down on a paved mountain side when someone tripped me (still don't know if it was accidental).I got so many wounds because I rolled down the side of the mountain but what was strange was I didn't get any broken bones nor did I have any wounds on my face. LOL I almost have any part of my body with a scar, but given the chance I'd still do all those things I did even if some were painful because the way I see it any pain you can walk away from makes you stronger (plus you can make cool stories with your scars LOL).

Funny you mention scars on the face...... I have two! One on my upper lip from getting bit by a dog when I was a child but it is tiny and hardly noticeable (Thankfully) and then I have one down on my chin (Fairly large)from when I fell off the monkey bars in grade school...I actually almost bit my tongue off in that accident as well...It was only hanging by a couple threads and they had to sew it back on as well! I was a while healing from that episode! ~Heavens~

Thankfully they weren't both at the same time!!! I don't remember the dog bite as well as I do the monkey bars..... I had to have liquids through a straw for quite a long time after that and was a while healing for sure! ~Heavens~

I'm probably heavier than you and I had my galbladder out in 1980. I had an excellent doctor at that time. He was an older man and a cancer specialist/surgeon. I do have a scar but it's really not all that bad. He did a very good job. Perhaps your doctor was a butcher at one time, I mean these days with all we hear about doctors anything at all is possible. I hope your friends cancer doesn't return and hopefully the scar will heal well. The Best!!!

I kind of thought so. I was 180 pounds when I had my operation, wish I still was but NOT, anyway like I say I do have a scar but it's really not bad. My husband weighs about 160 pounds, I have no idea what he weighed when he had his appendix out but he was only 12 years old and you need to see that mess, it looks like the surgeon was a woodsman and used a chain saw on him. Literally it's awful.

hi winterose yes indeed I have a huge scar much like yours and I am a big woman , but in my twenties I had my appendix out and I was slimmer then but the scar has moved down as I gained a lot of weight and looks awful. then when I had my gall bladder operation it was called a band aid surgery and it left only three little marks and they are gone. now two years ago I fell and fractured myleft shoulder. I had to have a shoulder joint replacement and this is one neat scar.about four or five inches long and just a faint white line, almost not visible. iam a bionic woman with a steel and plastic appartatus for my shoulder joint as the bones were so badly smashed they had to remove them, no way could they reset my shoulder.I also have a scar on my left forearm from the fall.It was just a wound and nobody even noticed that. also Ihave a big bruise on my left knee that has never gone away since that fall lol.

I certainly do. I have a scar just below my colar bone where I was stabbed by an attacker. If you want to read that story you can do so here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/643155/how_to_defend_yourself_if_you_are_attacked.html?cat=5 I also have a scar from having a C-section (3 actually). I have scar on my hand from where a German Sheppard attacked me. Another scar on my hand where I burnt myself frying chicken, and a few scattered small scars on my arms that are burn marks from cooking in a restaurant. I used to have one on my stomach from falling off my bike after I hit a car when I was a kid, but my C-Section scar went right through that one. I also have one on me knee from falling off of a concrete wall (a short one), I banged me knee on the sharp concrete on the way down.

I've got a few very prominent scars: One is near my right eye. It was from an incident at recess in the second grade, where I was running up a wooden playground item from a couple of kids. (I'll try to describe it: It looked like a big wedge from the side, with tree trunks of various cuts anchoring it, and it had metal bars with 2x3s as steps, but spaced at least a foot apart from each other.) I decided in my infinite wisdom to RUN up these steps. Well, needless to say, I slipped, fell forward, and BAM! My right eye landed smack on this thing. Blood was coming out big time. I was rushed to the main office by the principal, who held a warm cloth over it, then actually rode with my mother and I in her car, me still on his lap (this was 1982 remember) to the hospital to get treated for it. On is on my neck from when I was helping my brother throw an old permanent dishwasher out, and he started throwing the damn thing before I was ready, and it caught me on the neck. (It didn't actually break skin, thank god.) My third one is a hole on my inner right elbow from the all the times I donated blood plasma (and recently, blood). I've had to tell people I don't do heroin. LOL

I have my boob job scars, and the one on my sholder from the surgery. then I have a whole bunch of little ones from moles removed, on my arms, back, chest and on my chinny chin chin. Had the hairs removed later from that puppy! I've still got spots on my finger from the cat bite in March. and then there's all the cat scratch scars.....

I'm a spotty person and with all the moles removed already - over 10 - I still have more than that. Honestly, the only one I wouldn't want removed is probably one of the ones they might want removed because its on the palm of my hand, but it's FINE. It hasn't changed in the 54 years I've had it. Well, in the 50 years I can remember having it... I still have 2 others on my face that are of a fair size, but its always been the one on my chin I hated....

I've got loads of scars. I have a gall bladder scar on my stomach, a Caeserian scar (I had two, but the 2nd time they cut in the same places,) some scars on my left ankle where a motorcycle fell on it, and a bunch of scars along my hairline, and in my scalp from the forehead flap they used to rebuild my nose when I had skin cancer (2004.) I also have a tiny scar on my cheek from a dog bite when I was five (I had to have rabies shots even though the dog didn't have rabies,) and a small scar on the same cheek from a very small skin cancer there. Considering I had over 250 stitches in my face and nose, I should look like Scarface but I don't. I only have the tiny barely noticeable scars and the ones my hair cover. I had GREAT surgeons.

yes i have several scars...i am quite hyper when i was a child... first on my arm...my father is an electrician and he was doing his work...i saw soldering iron and try hold it when it was really hot...it mark a scar on my arm although it doesn't look like a scar thanks God. i don't remember this happened but they just told me it did. because i am playful, i hit my left forehead with a nail that is popping out from a ceiling under our house. they need to do stitching..hehehe...i don't remember it but they just told me what happened. also not noticeable..hehehe! and the last scar is when i was around 7 years old...it was election time and in our country, the candidates would have parade to promote themselves. i was with my grandmother's house and she ask me to buy something. i heard the parade and run so i can see the parade..i was so clumsy that i fell and it hit again my forehead. this time my right forehead...needs stitching too, and also not noticeable..good thing. this incident i remember...hehehe! see how naughty and hyper child i was...hehehe!good thing it never left an ugly scar!
