When you are looking for a topic to write on, which do you search thru first... whats already on AC, or do you head right for a search engine first?

The best advice is to write what you know. Those will tend to be your best articles. I have taken whatever information I have and put it in a How to format. AC tends to like that and pick up the initial offers on the article. I recommend writing your articles in word and just make a list of things you know and then pump out some how to articles. Some may be duds but on the other hand you may be pleasantly surprised to find other people wanting to know how to do stuff you know.

Great advice there, ericdell. How-to articles are the way to go. But i'm not much of a how-to article writer. But I do try sometimes.

I only search on AC. Of course the topic will also probably be on a search engine, but as long as it's not on AC, I feel like it would be a good topic to write about.
