omg, another reason to hate florida. 2 weeks ago on a saturday, we had a big storm. my internet was out till mid day monday. they came out and said it was a router down the road. This past friday night, again. big storm, no internet and they couldnt send a tech until today, monday, afternoon! eeee!! im so mad at them. i couldnt get on mylot and answer anything. i said its a good thing i dont depend on the internet for my living. I had serious withdrawals for mylot and other places i missed on here. how many of you have withdrawal if you cant get on the internet?

My mom lives in Fort Lauderdale. And she does work from home. The internet is a big part of how she makes a living. She does medical transcription. It's not only the storms that are frustrating. Its the 5-10 minute brown outs too. They never make an announcement so you can compensate. Effecting income I think is just as bad as withdrawl.

I'm not addicted to the Internet, but, when I want to get on, it makes me angry for it to be down. We've been having problems with our wireless router, or our DSL provider - haven't decided which yet. We have bought one router already. Hope that is all that is wrong since it takes forever to make AT & T understand they are the problem! Their Techs want you to go through everything like a school child! My daughter-in-law works online, medical transcriptionist, and their Hughes connection was out for about 2 weeks once. She had to travel around to restaurants, libraries, or anywhere she could get an Internet connection to d/load and upload her work. It was really bothersome. But their area finally got AT & T DSL, and they have the highest connection you can get. Sure wish mine was that high! Have you tried this option, going to places that have free access while you are offline?

i would, but my daughter has my car these days and she has to come over and take me. probably why im so dependent on internet. its an outlet for conversation, company , etc. and yes, they ask you stupid questions like your a child! like are you sure everything is connected? DUH! like you havent tried everthing before waiting an hour on the phone.

I live in lake worth florida so i know how much it sucks to lose power to a stupid storm! when we had those hurricanes back in 06 i think? we went without power for almost 3 weeks! omg, I was going crazy without my computer! not only was i dieing for AC again but I was having withdrawals from the internet it was awful... I would be sitting there thinking about the internet and all that i was missing out on lol and i just felt like whining like a little kid but i knew it wouldn't do any good. it really sucks but its kind of funny because it shows you how much you are addicted to the internet. I am hoping we don't get any hurricanes this year or any bad storms. we didn't get any last year...maybe we will be that lucky again!

Glad your back! I hate it when my net is down! I call the company and ask what is going on. I work from home and get frustrated with it. If the net were just for fun it would not matter to me.

bunnybon that is very difficult to deal with when you are knocked off the internet like that. it is suffering for sure. glad that you can be back. i have suffered myself a few times and it is not fun. and seems like way too long. i have a sister who keeps having her computer struck by lightning and the modem knocked out so that she has to buy a new one. miserable. glad to have you back.

well, i think it is unfortunate when something like that happen... but you can't really do anything about it... i also experience the same thing with my internet provider in the past... it can goes off for a week and it really frustruate me... fortunately, my income does not depend on the internet like you say... take care and have a nice day...

I dislike it just as much when I am unable to get on the internet for this is my all time favorite thing to do. I have found that alot of thunder storms will have me haveing to shut my computer down and thank god that I don't lose the router or anything. When I was with Verizon I know this would happen to me all the time and I got tired of it. I fineally changed companies and now am with Comcast and this hasn't happend to me since. Good luck with yours and may your problem get resolved soon.

It's not Florida...it's your crappy internet company! Juuust kidding...I'm over my Lake O and our internet hangs in there pretty good but the satellite dish loses it's signal when the first rain drop lands on it so you know how often our viewing pleasure is interrupted.

I would be ferious if i could not get to the internet to do my withdrawals because you wait so long for cashout and when you reach it you just want to hurry and withdraw.
