Do you ever play the "man role?"

Okay call me a little old fashioned but I truely still believe that the woman and the man in the house should have different roles. Well, at least in my house! I am the one that does the primary parenting, and housework. As my husband does the major money making.Around the home I do the dishes, vacuuming, etc. But he isnt exactly excluded from housework he has some stuff to do as well.He does the garbage and the little fix it/repair things and of course he lends me a hand whenever I need it with anything. But lately I have been doing some role reversing and it feels somewhat refreshing! Yesterday for example, I hung blinds, took some stinky garbage out, and did some other small repairs and he played with the baby and did some general housework..Now,I do have the knowledge myself to do the small repirs I did so I kind of liked it.It was nice to gat a break from the things I normally do, yes including the baby! And he had a good time too playing with the baby. It's sometimes just nice to reverse our roles, I wouldnt ever change them all together though as I enjoy doing what I do but it is still nice to switch positions with him. Not to mantion it gives us a feel for what the other goes through and lets us appreciate one another more. I am wondering, Is your home at all like mine? Do you have certain roles in your house? Do you ever switch with your partner?how did it work out?

In general I play both roles at home. Hubby is a truck driver so he doesn't really have time. We have both had the experience of each others roles and I like knowing if needed we could handle things. I do it all around the house from small repairs, and yard work (2 acres) to household chores. All with 3 kids. I think the best one was when I unloaded and installed my knew washer and dryer. (He's still in shock)
