Zero - Zero..

As of now, i have couple of my discussions shows as "Zero" Responses.. I really feel about that, initially, but after some time, when i went throught the Discussions with no responses, i found that there is the discussion which has been raised very long period, even with good quality discussion, having still pending as a "Zero" responses, (infact, i have given the responses for those discussions).. After went through that, i take this as very easy, So, getting the Zero responses is not only our own problem, it depends on the time in which we start, and the topic of the discussions and much more factors involved in that.. How many of your discussion, still show as a "Zero" responses, (if dont have any Zero responses discussion its really well and good, you are very lucky) what is your opion about the Zero responses discussions.. Post your view..

yeah I too think it has nothing to do with what your discussion is about but at what time you make the post and also as to how many of your friends get to see the post so if you only have a friends then it is not going to get viewed by too many people only the people that are online at the time that you made the post and yes I have 1 of my discussion that has 0 response but what can you do nothing so I am not going to worry about it :)

It is a matter of disappointment that one discussion is not getting a response. But while you are writing many discussion this may happen.I have no zero responses so far. But I am not starting too much discussions also.

Hello.. one rare but an important topic to discuss. In my case I had all my 5 initial discussions with zero responses. I still dont know why. One reason may be because I didnt have a network of friends at the begining and was un-aware of options here to build a friend network. It was too early for my referrals to become active as well. Anyone can check those discussions still and see my topics. I firmly believe almost all of them deserves atleast a single reply!.. but sad to say no replies at all!!!. This demotivated me as well feeling left out here too. For several months later on i didnt log to Mylot as well. But now I do use it as a learning and sharing point while being rewarded too.

i have also got few discussions with zero responses. its not that i always get responses.i think i will not be able to even find them in zero response section. it would be better if we had a personalized zetro response section.

Some of the zero responses discussions are very specific and therefore not appealing to the majority of people. I had a couple of zero responses last time I looked, one was a question about pet passports. I have learned to start discussions that are appealing to people that have the same interest as me: travel and more general ones like enjoy life and people. I hope not to start any more discussions that have zero responses. Months fly past I wish I could delete those discussions that have not had any responses.

I think all of mylot members , will be having zero responses...If few are lucky , I don't think so.. You are right, when we start a discussion ,which had been done before it is natural...but some times , there are few topics , which may be important in our view.. but others may not be so concerned about that.....

I too have had many topics with zero responses tat sat there for a very long time and I was not happy about it! I made an effort to mark two years worth of topics with "Best Responses" so I could clear the "Unresolved" section on my profile but because of those topics with zero responses, I was unable to clear all of them! I am not sure exactly how many zero response topics I have left but thankfully since I have been on this site for a while now I do not seem to post any zero response topics anymore. Sure I may only get one or two responses to some topics! But at least no more zero's for now! It is not easy to work out how to get multiple responses every time and if there is some secret formula for success in this regard then I sure don't know what it is!

I don't think I have any zero response on my discussions. I could be wrong but I haven't gone all the way to the beginning when I first joined. It wouldn't bother me anyway. There is a lot of different things that go into whether you get responses or not. I have some that have only one, two, or three responses.

well, with a lot of people here posting discussions every minute, it's not impossible that your good and interesting discussion can get lost with the other discussions being posted, so dont worry about it, it doesnt mean it's a worthless topic that you have posted. and like what you said there are indeed a lot of factors that involves as to why there are good topics that ends up without any responses. well, it's helpful that you get a lot of friends who are alert and keen on replying to your discussions, and interesting topics or subjects that would really grab the attention of the other mylotters, so smile and keep those discussions coming! cheers!

Your hypothesis is right, the timing is a big factor why one can get no responses on the discussion that was posted. To counter this you should make friends with people from all over the globe so that whatever you start a discussion there will surely be someone who is awake to reply to your post. Also always add many tags on your posts so it will be showcased when a discussion with a similar tag is posted.

At first it was difficult but I realized that no one might have known the answer to my post or no one was ever interested or it was pushed to the next page before anyone can view. I just don't really care for the reasons anymore ;O)

being a member of mylot for almost 2 years now i have had my fair shared of discussions with hundreds of responses and a few unresponded discussions. i guess its all part of the game here. there will always be an instance where we'll post a discussions that nobody likes or nobody likes to respond for the matter. with these regards i don't think we should feel bad about it. we have to understand that we cannot please everybody and our way of thinking is not always similar with other people. other members might oppose your idea and will respond negatively, others will criticize you and the worse part - others will find your post unattractive at all so they will not respond. just be patient and be active here. happy posting.

Dear friend, I hope at present only one of my responds is seem to get zero responds. I hope next time not to put any similar discussions like that and also it could evaluate my self in mylot may be I have to still wait to get a responds. May those who wanted to respond to that topic would not have seen. Hence I feel that time will come someone would respond on that. Moreover I too have seen few of mylots without any responds. As I go even respond those which I feel that I do have some to contribute may be this is what many others too thinkā€¦

I think, their topic did not caught the attention of any of us. It is so common, no sense, or just a redundancy or repetition of other posts. there are many factors to consider. But personally, I don't posts on topics with no sense.

I had a couple that were zero but a good friend asked me to look at his zero's and he'd look at mine. I would suggest helping anybody out who has a zero response. What are friends for?

hello chennai_b02 I think many people ignore the discussions with zero responses.many people know if we have joined mylot for a long time,we must have a lot of friends here,so they take care of the friends' new discussion more than the others.so if someone, especially the new guys always have a lot of discussions with zero responses. For me,I always respond that kind of discussion which i am interested with zero response as many as i can.But there are still a lot.So i think every mylot should have this concept to take care the new user. lol In fact, i also have one discussion with zero response,it is the very one,the topic is around the cooking, this is the link:http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1622101.aspx,I was wondering whether or not all people lose the interest to cook in family. if not, why don't i get a response?? It is really funny thing....Good luck to you
