Well, that's not so surprising, not only is Christianity the largest religion in the world, it is also the fastest growing. Also Christianity tends to be more prevalent in those areas of the world that are English speaking. And as this is a forum in English then you might expect Christianity to be featured heavily. I don't know but I would suspect Islam is over-represented here. all the best urban

if you give the proof for the existence of God,i'll give the proof you asked,lol... Thanks, Sri

Ha ha, yours is an empirical claim for which proof can be provided. The claim that God exists is of a different category and not subject to providing proof here. But if you are going to make claims of the kind you do, provide evidence or people may think you a rogue all the best urban

Hi dreamssri, I am just guessing that more Christians come to this site than the members of any other religion. I know that there are others here, and sometimes there are discussions about other religions. I would love to see others talking about their faith because we can all learn from each other. As long as we refuse to listen to each other, we will remain in darkness. Blessings.

I can only answer for myself. As a non-Christian, I tend to read the posts under Religion, but rarely post, because I find non-Christians are usually flamed by Chistians here. I am more comfortable in such forums as Pagan and Wicca where 'love thy neighbor' and 'judge not' are practiced more than preached. I find the majority of the 'Christians' here to be mostly about rhetoric and non-Christian-bashing. I am not of the opinion that these traits are espoused by Jehovah or Jesus, at least in none of the religious works that I have read in my studies (and YES! Christians reading this, those works DO include the King James Version Bible, as well as several other versions). Blessed Be and May You Have Peace... cats kisses

Christianity is no longer the largest religion in the world, but they are still the most vocal. They are taught from childhood to proselytize and many of them get very good at it. Some religions make it mandatory for their youth to dedicate a number of years to the service of their church and they do nothing but knock on doors and try to convert folks to their religion. I call it door to door religion. My own opinion is that if your teachings are right folks will knock on your door. Other religions have continued to thrive and they do not proselytize. The Jews are a good example. Every once in a while they are almost wiped out and then they recoup their numbers again. They never seek converts. It is very difficult to convert to Judaism. No the rest of the religions are just comfortable in their own skin and don't have to talk about it to others all the time and try to get them to join the club. You know Misery loves company!

Actually, with app 2 billion believers and 33% of the world's population Christianity is still the largest religion and it is also the fastest growing. From CIA World Factbook - World 2007. Islam is second largest with app 1.5 billion but growing more slowly. all the best urban

I don't know. I have not added the interest yet. May be they have too much confusion about Christanity. That's why they start discussions about this.

Welcome to the Internet. If you're any prior experience on forums like these, you do get the impression that Christianity is the overwhelmingly popular religion, and no-one talks about anything else. To be honest, though, it's just another case of the vocal minority getting more attention. I'm sure there's plenty of Jews, Hindus, Zoroastrians, etc. on here, but they don't start topic after topic about how great their God is. That's almost exclusively a habit of Jesus worshippers, and probably says a lot more about them and their need for constant reaffirmation than it does about their god. Coming slowly in at second and third place, you get the Muslims and LDS, who post occasionally but aren't quite as confrontational online. Very occasionally, you'll get a Buddhist or Wiccan/Pagan/New Religion Du Jour posting, but again, these tend to be rather unremarkable posts. That's not to say the content's unremarkable, just that they don't get a flurry of 'Hey, me too! Awesome!' replies. And then there's me, and a few others: Atheists, agnostics, and general 'scoffers and mockers', as I've been called occasionally. The last bastion of rational thought ;)

Christian Religion is a Big Scam that has been ongoing for almost 2000 years. Its been a Huge payout for the Church, but as time goes by, people are catching on, and the Christian Church is losing Parishioners. Many Churches are closing because they cannot get enough young Priests, Ministers and Pastors to Carry on. I'm not Christian, but Spiritual, and I believe in Reincarnation, or life after life. Check it out at your local Library, the Internet, or your nearest book store.

From my past of religious debates I've noted the following: Christians often try to prove god exists Atheists often try to prove god doesn't exist Pagans and other religions end up stuck in the middle like it's a game of tug-o-war It's just how it almost always happens, I've kind of gotten use to it.

hmmm..good point! everybody tries to prove that his own religion is the best and his God is only God(!)...i'm really confused with this!! My concept is just simple: There is a Power above all of us.I just dont care with the name the people out there use to call the Power. They can call it as God or Jesus or Allah Almighty or something else...i dont care...I JUST BELIEVE!!

Hi Dreamssri, There are 2 main religion in world which runs by the term "Convert and Conquer" ~ i do not want to name the religion but almost everyone knows the religion .. and i do not intend to hurt anyone here This religion comes with many reasons for someone to convert into their religion and they prove they are better by showing numbers. I believe in Jesus Christ, I believe in Christianity , i will go to church but i am not a christian. As long as the church welcomes me i will go and perform prayers there. I do not belive in converting into another religion as i believe that "my mother have prayed to her god, to bring me up as who i am today, and i will be praying to her god and make sure my children pray to the same god" My believe in my religion is strong but i do not say i do not believe other religion and god. Try starting a discussion on other religion, you might not get alot of response from others or you might get some hurtful response. so why bother? Jesus is son of god, Mohamad is a messenger, Buddha is a messenger, Ganesh is son of god In Hinduism there is a saying ... the electrical power source is one but the outlet is multiple (fan/ fridge/tv/dvd ...) The All Mighty God is one but the religion makes it different

I'm a Hindu but i'm just like you...i worship Jesus,Allah Almighty,etc,etc,...(!)..Because i worship the Holy Power - the Faith!

Christianity is the most populated habitant people on mylot, so it is suprising that many myloters are christians. They are certainly muslims here and other religion organizations that I've encounter, just check all the discussions. But atheist and agnostics are common also, they are anywhere here on mylot discussing their beliefs and sharing their thoughts.

Hehehe.. That's because many of the members out here must be Christians. Or may be those of other faiths or religions might not be wanting to post about their religion here. there could me many reason to this particular question you have asked. If you wish to speak or discuss about your religion my friend you are free to do so dear. Just open up a discussion about it and start off.
