What time do you go to bed

Most nights I am up late either watching a movie or playing on the computer. One or two am is not late for me, I have a hard time sleeping so it is nothing for me to stay up till dawn sometimes, when I feel tired during the day I can lay down and take a nap. I know this isn't possible for most that have to get up for work, but how many are out there that can stay up as late as they want.

About a month ago I had a horrible cold the doctor prescribed some cough medicine with codeine in it. One teaspoon full and you was out. I would take it around 11 and with in a few minutes, I was heading for the bed, I would not get up till 8 or 9 and I said hey this is what sleeping is all about getting more than 2 or 3 hours a night. I felt a lot better in the morning cause I wasn't exhausted, but then the medicine ran out and I was back to 2 or 3 hours a night. Now my daughter has a broken ankle and she can not drive, so I am the one that has to take her to school and to her appointments. Plus she has 2 daughters in everything I believe the school has and I am constantly on the road, so by the time I get back home and everyone's day is over, if I sit down in the chair I'm out. I am 62 and not like it was when I was younger, the energy. Too bad it takes wearing us out before we can finally lay down and go to sleep.

I have a problem sleeping.I usually stay up real late ,sometimes into the morning hours..When i was younger i could go to bed around ten and sleep like a baby all night long..My husband could not understand how i could just lay my head on a pillow & go to sleep almost instantly..These days it is not that way,I am never ready to go to bed..I went to bed around 2:30 this morning & tossed & turned & finally just got up..Then around 3:30 I layed back down and slept about an hour & i am up again..I have felt like i need to go to the doc & get something to help me sleep but i hate to take a pill to sleep..I really do not know what my problem is...I still remember the good ole days when i could sleep...

We are creatures of habit. We can work night shift. We can sail boats single handed where we sleep only 20 minutes at a time 24/7. We can make do with 3 hours sleep at night and yet others are still exhausted after 10 hours sleep! The thing that really breaks me is being deprived of sleep. I just can't take it. And with the Olympics coming up in two days I can see that happening to me! It was the same when the Olympics were in Australia - the time zone meant that all the action took place in my night time. So my regular time of sleep between midnight/1am to 7am (less getting up for wees at all hours - haha) will be shattered over the next two weeks!

I don't generally like to stay up too late during the day because it makes me quite sluggish the next day even if I wake up late to try and compensate for going to bed really late. I like to get into bed by midnight most days. I can't sleep that well either but I try to read before bed a little which does usually help me get into the mood to sleep.

Hi bdugas, I am not a very late sleeper though i rise early most of time. Usually if i am home 11 pm and i cant move a muscle. as soon as clock turns eleven i feel all my energy has sapped and i start yawning and go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow but i usually get up at about 3 am and study for atleast 3 hours before i start my day. This help me in being able to cope up with the heavy demands of my subjects which i have taken and can go to college more confidently.

I stay up quite a bit too. Its 1 in the morning here and I have to be at work at 9:45 tomorrow, but I went to bed as soon as I got home from work at 6 and slept until 11 and now I'm up again. I stay up too many nights and then am so tired that I hit the couch as soon as I get in. Not a very good or healthy regimen to be in, I guess.

I usually go to bed at 9pm. If I don't, I'm tired the next day and can't get anything done, but on the night before I have a day off, I usually stay up late. Take care

I am trying to find a job that works with me. I never have been a morning person. I simply cannot manage to go to sleep by 1 or 2 am and get up at 9 or 10. If I try I am always exhausted the next day. If I stay up till 5 or 6 am, and sleep till 1 or 2, I am perfectly rested, and ready to go all day till the next morning. Right now I'm between jobs, so this isn't an issue. But finding a job where I can work that way is proving to be a pain.
