What is your favourite crime show??

August 7, 2008 4:56am CST
I love watching all the CSIs, Without a Trace, Law and Order, Missing Persons, Third Watch and The Bill. They are the ones that spring to mind. Most of them are American shows and I think they are fantastic. If i was to pick one show, I dont think I could as they are all great in their own individual way. Its interesting to see how they figure out who the bad one is, piecing the puzzle together to find missing people and the people they have to deal with from time to time. Whats your favourite crime show?? If you could appear in one show, which would it be and what character would you be?? Im not sure which show I would want to be in as they all have good and bad things about them. possibly Missing Persons or Without a Trace as it must be great reuniting people that have been reported missing but when you find the missing person dead or attacked must be hard!!

I prefer syfy stuff like Star Trek or Star Gate but when I run out of those I will watch shows like Blue Bloods or CSI (the original) or Father Brown or something like Vampire Diaries and it's spin offs.

Have you seen a commercial for the upcoming CBS show The Mentalist? It stars the Australian Simon Baker, who used to be on the CBS show, The Guardian. The Mentalist looks like a fresh, new kind of crime show.

I am not familiar with The Bill, and Third Watch only comes on in reruns now since it has been canceled here. But I did used to like Third Watch. I guess my favorite crime show is CSI: Miami. I don't watch the other two anymore. I know it is a lot of people's least favorite CSI, but I find the characters more sympathetic.

I wish I could get shows from Australia or New Zealand. Those countries seem to get our shows, I wish someone over here would pick up theirs. I know a few English shows have been picked up and shown over here, in their original format, not redone like America's sitcome The Office, and the original English version The Office.

The Bill is an English Show. Its a running series, it first broadcasted on October 1984 so I have grown up with this show. It is shown in many countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Sweden (though its been retitled "Sunhillspolisstation" (Sun Hill Police Station)), Ireland, Belgium, and Denmark. Thanks for posting x

I am not as big of a fan as you might be, but I do enjoy the shows that you mention except for Third Watch and The Bill which I have never seen. I don't know that I would particularly wish to be in any specific show, however. I guess I'm just not motivated by those things.

I love watching CSI, it's very interesting how they solve crime and how they investigate the people who are involved on the crime. Every details and pieces that they might see on the crime scene are very important. How I wish that this kind of investigation are applied here in the Philippines.

I also love watching the true crime shows like FBI Files and Forensic Dectectives. Its great that they show ou how they do it in real life, this way you know its for real and it is also a real case and they are after a real criminal!!

Cool discussion here! I like CSI, too especially CSI Las vegas. if i could be in that show, i wanna be the one working on the corpse. yes. it sounds gross! but i am really interested in searching evidences left on the person's body. it seems scary to do autopsy but i really am interested to have that part.

i haven't seen true calling yet. but sounds interesting. might check that one out later. true that corpses can be scary sometimes. but it's like something i wanna do. so full of mystery and it will surely be an accomplishment to be able to have a final autopsy done.
8 Aug 08
Yeah it would be interesting to do that but then the state of some of the corpses must be pretty scary and gruesome. That reminds me about Tru Calling, its not a crime show but she works in the morgue and has the ability to relive the day to try and stop that person from dying. She has to remember what happened in that day to prevent it. Her brother and her boss knows she has this ability so they help her. It very good!! Thanks for respoding x

hi cinderella! i like watching CSI too! the suspense is very good. its interesting to watch how they solve crimes by investigating almost everything in the crime scene. and the actors and actresses are all good especially the one who plays Grissom. i also like Criminal Minds. i like the psychological problems that the investigating team face. i like the weirdness of the problems and how the agents deal with it.

I cant wait for CSI to come back on, though I believe Grissom is leaving in the episode. It wont be the same without him!! My boyf has got into watching the Crime channel - I keep joking with him, asking him if hes trying to get hints and tips on doing a crime!!! lol

i am a total law and order junkie (all 3 shows) but i do like cold case (which is a canadian show) but i do get to see old law and order shows every day. i like the show because there are twists and turns in the show all the time.
8 Aug 08
Yes I also like Cold Case, I think its great that they are able to solve old cases especially ones that happened like 20-30 years ago!! You would think the older the case, the harder to solve but they always manage to solve them. I also like it how it switches the characters with the how they were and how they are now!! Thanks for responding x

I don't watch that many crime shows but I do like CSI- but not Miami or New York. I think it is the characters that draw me in, and also the other two have characters who just annoy me. Have you seen Burn Notice? I love that programme, it had be hooked from the first episode. The story is fastpaced enough to keep me interested. I used to watch The Bill a long time ago but it was just something I'd watch if it were on the telly. Not really something I'd go out of my way of to see!

Have you seen sue Thomas:FBeye?? That is really good!! Its based on a true story aswell. Its about Sue Thomas, shes deaf and joins the FBI!! She can lip read and has a real cool computer/phone. When someone rings her, what they say appears on the computer screen so its like your normal telephone call except it also appears on the screen!! She has a dog called Levi. Its on the Hallmark channel. Ive never seen Burn Notice.

Yes Cold Case is good!! Its great that they are able to solve crimes from like 30 years ago!! It makes you wonder how many cold cases there are!! There must be thousands and some of them will never be solved!! Thanks for responding x

Im guessing your meaning the cartoon?? Whats your best bit about Scooby Doo?? If you could be a character in Scooby Doo, which one would you be??

I love watching all the CSI's shows, I also like Cold Case. It think it's very cool how they solve the cases with DNA. It's amazing how a single strand of hair can provide so much information on a person.

I too love some of the shows you mentioned. CSIs, Law and Order, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Without a Trace. I too like the other series like Practice, Criminal Minds, NCIS, The Pretender, Dark Angel, Boston Legal, Hunter, The Profiler, NASH. I am sure there is more, just cannot remember all of them. And like you, I like the way they solve the mystery. Especially when there is a twist in the story, keeping you in the whole thought process of the investigations to catch the crook. Those are like the best!

Greetings cinderella2007. I love 48 Hours Mystery show. But, it is "true crime" rather than a fictional drama show with actors. It would be my first choice. My second choice would be CSI, I think. We also like "Criminal Minds," so that would be my third choice. Hmm, I guess I'd choose to be a character in CSI. It would be Marge Helgenberger's (I spelled that wrong) character. I really like her.

I started watching crimeshows when CSI began being showed with us. I love the Las Vegas and the Miami series, but not the New York one, don't ask me way, I just don't. Then there is Law and Order: special victim's unit. That's one of my favourites too, but it hasn't been aired here for a while. Without a trace and cold case I often watch, but not like I do the others. have a nice day

Hello cinderella, I find there are a lot of crime programmes at the moment on TV, which are very similar, as if they all have the same producers. They involve a lot of special effects and new technology, but they are so poorly written, poorly acted and at the same time take themselves too seriously. I used to like John Thaw in "Inspector Morse" and "The Sweeney", as he was a superb actor. The same goes for David Jason in "Frost". Otherwise I prefer watching old re-runs of Starsky and Hutch here on German TV, as they are more light-hearted, but they have a bit of character as well. Have a nice weekend. UMart
