What do you think about the song "Don't worry, be happy"?

I got hit with another unexpected bill last night and stayed up worrying about it. I took a shower and started thinking about the song "Don't worry, be happy." I was wondering how people can be happy no matter what. I know people who can't pay their bills but go around smiling to everyone and no one would know that their electricity got turned off or whatever. How do you deal with this? How can you not worry and just be happy all the time?

Gouranga! Being happy all the time is very difficult. There are some saints who can feel so in their hearts all the time. They have reached the perfection of life. The real happiness comes from the spiritual world, from God, not from this material world. We have a material body but we are the spiritual living entities. Not the body. We suffer from the effects of the outer material world because of our body. But we must know, that we have nothing to do with this material world or this material body. We are independent. Only because we live in this body we feel all the pains of this body because the body is in connection with this world. If you can always keep yourself independent from the happenings of this world and the panis of this body then you have the chance to be always happy. To be always happy means always be connected with God. That's the perfect happiness. I am trying to do so by chanting the Holy Names of God: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Ráma Hare Ráma Ráma Ráma Hare Hare Just try to chant or to sing or listne to it! It frees your mind and activates the sleeping happiness in your soul. Gouranga! (means be happy!) Haribol! (means to sing!)

I think it simply means that worrying is not healthy. There are always problems that will pop out our way but I believe that if there's a problem, there are solutions. When there's life we can always pay our debts because there's always hope. When i hear this song, it lightens my feeling and wipes away my worries.

That song is one of those that gets into your head, and it just won't go away. It does sort of make you smile, too. Nobody's going to make paying the bills any easier, so I do my best about it and put it in the back of my mind. Haappy's so much better than depressed!

I think that it's one of those things that aren't easy to come by. To be happy even if you have no electricity or are not able to pay the bill must be something mild to these people or something they are used to. Hope can be a good thing as it helps you to realize that there are worse things going on! hmm, I am not sure! I hope that you do not have to worry to much over it though, work hard here and I promise you that you might just have enough to pay for your own electricity. Er, maybe not automatically but it can be done! Have a wonderful and lovely day!

Well.. people can be happy all the time. I used to think that this song is just too much for a normal people. But after listening to it over and over again, I wondered, that we might get it wrong. The song should be telling us that if there is a problem, the big one in our life, we should not worry about that. We might not be able to solve it soon, but if we are feeling worry, we're never able to conquer the problems of our life. Imagine this: When you are in a big trouble, and you feel worry, you became panic and you just in a rush to fix things up you just fckd-up. But when you have fun and try to relax, you refreshed your mind and suddenly you came out with the idea of how to solve the problems.
