Just doing a little research on myLot. What is the most popular brand of laptops people buy and why? What makes it the best brand for you? Is it hardware? software? customer support received? If you were going to recommend the best brand for me to purchase, what would it be? Thanks Jason

I have only just gone through this process a mtter of weeks ago! I ended up choosing an Acer because the specifications suitedmy purposes; it is a well known brand and the price was competitive. Ultimately I would like to buy a Vaio but I will do this next time I think! As long as the specifications stack up and the brand name is legitimate it is diffcult to go wrong in my opinion. It all comes down to what your specific useage purposes are as well. If you are a graphic designer or developer you would arguably go for a Mac; if yu are a gamer then memory and processor/graphic specifications are key......

I honestly, have never used an Acer computer, does it come with any usable software that you don't have to pay extra for? I do agree though, the VAIO's are nice, I have never owned one but did rent one for a project one time from Rent A Center or Rip Me Off Center, lol.

The Acer I bought came only with Linux; but thankfully I had all the software I needed to install back at the office. I could have paid extra for software but I chose not to. I am very happy with my purchase and to date have not regretted my decision.

I have looked at some of the apple laptops and they are pretty nice I do have to say. It mainly just comes down to to mainstream compatibility with those. However, I do know that a lot of format are compatible with both Apple and Microsoft platforms. I do agree though, I think features have big play in a person's decision to buy a laptop from any vendor. Thanks

I am also looking for a laptop to purchase in the near future. One of the things I look for is the features available on the laptop for no extra charge. Another I look for is the hardware specs. I want to have plenty of memory for the stuff that I want to do on my laptop, like gaming and more. The one laptop that has caught my attention so far is the Sony Vaio. I love the design of the laptop, especially the raised keyboard it possesses. I am still researching laptops though and will make my decision when I have gathered all of the information and am ready to make the purchase. I've heard that Dell and Alienware are also good laptops, but I haven't have the opportunity to test either of them as of yet.

I will buy an Apple Mac book. A quad core from Apple will make me really happy. I really want one, but her in my country it's really expensive, so I have to choose cheaper brands. I bought an Acer Aspire a year a go, but if I have money, I would have bought Apple.
