Hi all I was wondering if you ever had a car accident ? Was it your fault ? And I was wondering what goes through you when you are in the accident ? Do you feel something or do you think of something ?? Thx

I have gotten into just one car accident.I was 7 months pregnant and the guy slammed right into my passenger side.He was turning around and I had the right of way.The whole right side of my car had to be fixed. It took him a year to get the repairs done.Thankfully me neither my baby was hurt. That is all that was running through my head at the time. That was 6 years ago.Now he is a healthy happy 6 year old boy.

I have only had 1 accident in my entire years of driving. Granted I've only been driving for 8 years but.... The accident was NOT my fault but it scared the beejezus out of me to the point I thought I might not ever drive again. I had my then 2 year old son in the car. The guy behind me come out of nowhere, going double the speed limit, arguing with his girlfriend on a cell phone. He hit me from behind and spun the car I was driving. When the police showed up he just handed over his license, it was the 3rd accident in less then 3 months for the samething. He was charged with reckless driving and lost his license for 3 years. Everyone was ok though but my son and I were pretty shaken up

I've had a few fender benders like everyone else. But almost 24 years ago, I was hit pretty badly. I was driving down the street and had a green light to go through a busy intersection. Even so, I looked both ways before I proceeded into the intersection and saw nothing. Suddenly, this car was coming - fast - right at me and there was nothing I could do. An 84 year old lady who should not have been driving hit my car and it spun around the intersection before coming to a stop facing the wrong direction. My car was totalled. I was bruised badly, but luckily nothing more. Thankfully, my infant son was not in the car with me. It was rush hour and people were so intent on getting to work that no one stopped. Cars kept going past and no one stopped. Finally, a guy on a bicycle stopped. He said he had seen the whole thing, but he, too was on his way to work and could not be late. He didn't have a home phone, and that was way before cell phones. He also could not get calls at work. (I think he worked in a labor pool.) So he gave me his address and told me to show up there for his statement if I needed it. I did need it. When the cops arrived, it was the old lady's word against mine. She tried to tell them that I ran the red light...and with my car facing the wrong direction it was hard to tell what happened. It was also my word against hers that she didn't have her glasses on when she was driving, but put them on about 5 minutes after we were stopped and exchanging information. It turned out that this dear lady had been in so many car accidents in the past 2 years that her insurance cancelled her. She was insured, though - by her doctor son's fleet insurance. He tried so hard to make the accident my fault and to make sure his insurance didn't pay. But I did have a good witness. It took 6 weeks for that claim to be paid, and when it did, I went from having a 3 year old car with low miles and in excellent condition to having to buy a 6 year old car with way too many miles on it. ************ Then in the year 2000, I was rear ended twice in the span of 3 months. The first time, my car was not hurt at all but I ended up with whiplash. And the driver who hit me took off. My insurance had to pay for my medical bills. The second time was in front of my apartment complex. The guy behind me had a huge truck with a cattle pusher on the front and did quite a bit of damage to my car. The cops were only about 4 cars behind me, so they saw what happened. Still, it took about 3 months for this claim to be completely paid. (The insurance company would not pay for new parts for my car, since it was 8 years old...and it took forever to get used ones.) There was about $2000 damage done, even with used parts. That poor car was also hit when my cousin was driving it - on the front end. A young teen hit him, and talked him into not reporting it. Then he never did pay for fixing it and my cousin was stuck fixing it. $800. And back in May, again my old car was hit - but in the parking lot at my doctor's office. I was just coming out when a lady with a pick-up truck too big for her to drive (her words) hit my car. Her insurance company really wanted to total my car, but I prevailed. Damage to the side $1300. My 1992 Chevy Cavelier has had the back, front and side totally rebuilt now. But she has only 111,000 miles on her and I love her.

I've been driving since 16 & for 21 years I've been driving, I had 3 major accidents... I was actually in 4 major car accidents but I wasn't driving at the time I've gotten into the first one... Once I hit a deer at 11 at night... May be I could've avoided it now I'm thinking about it... I once ran into a "dirt wall" when it was raining... I was driving down a steep hill on a rainy day & I skided into a wall... Then I was in a head-on-collision but it wasn't my fault... I was going straight & someone either didn't see me or mis-judged my speed & distance & cut right in front of me to make a turn... But the funny thing is, the most serious accident I was involved in, I actually ended up in the hospital & got surgery, I wasn't even driving... I was sitting behind the driver & got hit by drunk driver... Broke my wrist, 2 fractured & 4 bruised ribs, glasses in my left eye, some in my right eye, sugery took care of them... Badly sprained my left ankle & right knee... Small cuts all the way up & down my arms, can't even tell now, cut scars on both of my knees... I was a mess... All I saw was a car comming at me & remember saying something then waking up at the hospital not being able to see anything for 6 weeks... I thought I was blinded... Friend's brother who was driving at the time, he's ok now, told me that the last thing he heard was me yelling out his name, felt something hitting him on his side, then blacked out... He woke up from the hospital 8 days later... He had head injuries & something about his neck & back, from being jolted around... 2 other people, including a guy who's brother was driving, made out with some bumps & bruises & they were checked out from the hospital 2 days after the accident...
