Do You Add Anything when You Cook Instant Noodles? Or Just Plain?

Yesterday I bought a book about adding different things to instant noodles to make it more interesting. Whenever I cook instant noodles, I add things like pork or sausage or something else to make it taste better. What about you? Do you add anything additional to your instant noodles? Or you prefer to have it plain?

I alway add a lot of items to my instant noodles... to the point that it seems to become shabu-shabu... and i would always include carrots, eggs, cabbage, and meat... the meat would always depend on the flavor of the instant noodles... so if it is chicken flavor... i add ground chicken... if it is pork... then i add pork pieces or ground pork...

If it is a regular chicken egg... then i add it right to the noodles... then stir very gently... but if i have quail eggs... then i usually boil them first... remove the shell... then put it right in... very yummy...

Shabu Shabu, very interesting! My mom always says that I add a lot of stuff in my noodles but I just can't imagine not adding any! *winks*

We are alike in this. I love eggs in mine, but leave them out of hubby's portion. We both like cabbage in them, though. Tonight we have a little left over chicken so I added that. But sometimes I will put pork sausage in the noodles even if the soup base was chicken. Sometimes we put chicken and ham and sausage all in the same noodles, just less of each. Do you hard-boil the eggs first or swirl the mixed egg into the broth or some other method?

I never eat or use instant noodles except to make Ramen salad with coleslaw/cabbage mix. It's pretty tasty.

If I have to eat instant noodles, usually I am so hungry and want to eat something right away. So I have no patience to cook and even add something inside. Most of the time I pour hot water inside and then it'll be done within few minutes. Then I can eat it. I love China

*laughs* I always add something because I always have it as a main meal. I seldom cook instant noodles when I am hungry because I have absolutely no patience to wait, so I would usually go to McDonald's instead.

I not only add lots of things to my noodles, but I add noodles to other things. One time I was a little short of vermicelli when hubby wanted rice and vermicelli for dinner, so I threw in a handful of ramen. We both like that so much that now whenever I make rice and vermicelli, even from a box mix, I always add a handful of instant noodles. Only I use just half of the seasoning as it is too salty to put it all in even with the extra noodles. Then I add finely chopped cabbage and celery and lots of chopped onion and other vegetables, depending on what is in season or on hand. Usually I add sausage or chopped chicken or turkey and sometimes mushrooms, black olives, whatever we feel like having. I hardly ever make it exactly the same way twice.

Yea! Now I come to think of it, I hardly ever cook the same instant noodles twice! Every time, I just throw things in and not really paying attention! I guess that's why I love instant noodles so much, there is no way you could go wrong with it!

To me, butter on them is plain. WE add tomato sauce or cheesy cream sauce. My husband can have tomato sauce, but I can't. Take care

I think you would have fun if you tried some different sauces, even some people put gravy on. Take care and thanks.

well, instant noodles are good to mix with vegetables. But sometimes when I am rushing, I will just out the noodles in a cup inside the microwave and eat it. I will usually follow the instructions when I am in a rush...

Hello wondericequeen, I will add anything that can make it tastier instead of having it plain. I love to have more stuff in my instant noodle. Sometimes, I just make my own ingredient instead of using the ready made ingredients.

Yea, I tend to mix everything in as well! I just think that having it plain doesn't seem tasty at all.

I do not eat them very often, but when I do eat instant noodles I normally eat them with just a the packet of seasoning that comes with them and a little butter. I drain all of the water off of them when they are done cooking and then add the butter and seasoning.

Ah, so you just have it plain. I used to have it plain like long long time ago, but then I start adding stuff and found that it tastes more interesting.

Oh for cup noodles, I don't add anything too. That's more a snack for me or when I have no choice of what to eat!

For noodle dishes, I usually add sliced spring onions and mushrooms, garlic, ginger and soy sauce. If I'm planning to have them as the main meal rather than a side dish, I'll add some meat or fish as well.

I like to add vegetables and eggs if it's instant noodles in any flavor! But I normally buy a chicken or seafoods flavor we also put lots of ginger and chilis in our noodles and sometimes I will add chicken or seafood it depends what flavor I am cooking. But when I'm lazy and dont want to chops anything I go for plain one.
