Most everyone has went on vacation at one time or another. Whether it’s to visit family and friends or to go to some vacation resort. Things are calm, relaxed, no stress, your problems are miles away at home and you start thinking how nice it would be to just stay on vacation. Maybe you have so much fun visiting family and friends you think that you want to stay there forever. I did this when I was 17. I went to visit my Dad and realized how much I missed the family and the routine and decided I wanted to stay. I blocked out the problems my Dad and I have at times when we live under the same roof. It didn’t last long and when I moved away I never went back. I love Michigan and hopefully one day I’ll get to move back one day…just to be near the water again. Do you ever go on vacation and think about staying? Have you ever moved after visiting a place and liking it? Would you pack up and move if you found the perfect place? What would your perfect place be like? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

LOL I don't think I could live in Vegas...I'd be broke from gambling all the time. My Mom and them visited there a few years ago and they loved it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have never moved anywhere that I vacationed at, but I do know my hubby and I both loved the time we spent in Orlando - don't think we will move there though.

I don't get to go on vacation often so when I go I always want to stay. But I always end up missing home. I can remember growing up and thinking that I couldn't wait to move out on my own away from my parents. Now I live right beside them and love everyday of it. My parents and I are closer than we were when I was a child and I sit and visit with my mom almost everyday. For me, where I am is my perfect place.

Many times I've gone on vacation and thought it would be fun to move to the vacation spot. I wouldn't move under any circumstances. Our kids are in our town and I love to be with them when they aren't busy working. We do have a daughter in Arizona and each time I visit sure wish we had a condo in her town so I could visit more often but wouldn't have any interest in moving. I've been here all my life. My husband and his family are here too and have been here his entire life. It's really the only home we know!

I liked the Netherlands when I visited it aged 17 and felt that I would like to back to live there one day. I did get to do this for four months when I was able to do part of my degree there. I liked the pretty architecture, the flat landscape, the friendly people and I tried to learn some of the language. However the Dutch are masters of the foreign languages so they spoke to me in English when I spoke to them in Dutch. I loved Australia from the very first moment I saw Australia. Sydney is my favorite city in the world. I like the white sails of the opera house and the gray harbor bridge. I love the unique native wildlife and the stunning landscape. I have often dreamed about moving to fantastic Australia but it is so far away from my family. The points system is tough to get through. I married an Australian but we are now divorced. I adored New Zealand from the moment I saw Northland. I liked the awesome landscape, the superb walking tracks and feeling of space. In a country around the same as my homeland it has a population of less than 4 million. The downside of it is the weather, summer is the only season for me. It is even further away from my family than Australia. I spoke to people that emigrated there and found out they were wealthy when they first got there but with a lower salary ended up fairly poor. I loved it in tropical Belize. I imagined myself settling there. The bonus of living there would be the cheap flights into Cancun for family and friends to visit. I could go snorkeling as often as I liked. I wish I could buy a piece of land near the ocean and built a thatched tree house there. That would be my idea of moving to paradise.

Well, if I had a lot of money, I think that I would move to California. I love the weather and how active a person can be because there are so many things to do. I went on vacation this past July ,and I fell in love with Long Beach and Laguna.

I think I was always ready to come back home. My husband is from California and I have been there a few times with him. I did enjoy it there. It was nice to get a way for awhile and I found I slept so much better while I was away. Its usually hard for me to sleep when I'm away from home. If I did move though I think I would want to move to a place that lots of cool weather and snow. We use to have snow here but the last few years we haven't and I miss it. Actually we did get a big snow in late winter but it melted right away cause it warmed up but it was the most snow we received in a long time.

There are three places I would like to go live in. I used to vacation in Washington State and I really loved it there. I loved the ocean, and it was not as crowded as being in Vancouver, B.C. where I grew up. Then last year, we went to Prince Edward Island and it was just a short drive to the ocean. I just love the sea, and I would not mind living there, if I were not a big city fan. I would also love to live in Maine. We went through there on our way back to Winnipeg. So I have thought about staying. Never did. We just moved to where there was work.

When I got married to my ex we decided to move from South Carolina to Texas. I had been to Dallas and at the time my uncle was Chancellor of the University of Texas System and was living in Austin. We visited there and loved it. So we moved to Austin. I never forgave my ex for making us move from Austin. Of course I would have never met my current husband. When we win the lottery (ha, ha) we would like to move back to the hill country just outside of Austin. Some day....

One year we had a particular difficult winter here with around twenty-seven major snowstorms. We had family in Florida and we always spent our vacations there. We actually began looking for a home there after that very bad winter, but we realized that it would have been a bad move on many levels so we didn't do it. However, I have strong memories of thinking of how wonderful it would be to live in a place where snow would never be a problem and then they had all of these bad hurricanes. I really don't think there is such a place as paradise here on earth. Problems exist everywhere.

We didn't just think ab out it, we did it. There was one place we used to go to every vacation and we just loved it so we bought a home there and when it was time to retire it was already paid for and that is where wo spend the winter. We still go back to our old "hunting grounds" each summer and feel like we have the best of all worlds.

Well twoey, this very thing got me in trouble last year. Went to the mountains on vacation, loved the time share and signed the contract. Not thinking about when maintance fees and such come due the next year, and not expecting the increase in gas prices. LOL so now I have a time share to sell cause I got stupid in paradise. Blessings Marilyn

Absolutely. Sometimes I think that it would be great to move to Maine where I go on vacation almost every or every other summer for about a week. Right by the beach, or pretty close to it. But I realize that if I would ever do that I'd have to plan for it, I couldn't just decide one day to do it. It being by the beach I realized that the cost of buying or even renting a house would be pretty expensive. Granted, maybe not as expensive as maybe in Maryland or New Jersey. I love the rocky coast up there and that some houses have stones as their yard instead of grass. So I wouldn't have to worry so much about the upkeep of the yard. But then again, I wouldn't know anybody there. I feel comfortable where I am. And I don't know if I would ever be willing to leave my comfort zone.

Every time i go on vacation, i want to stay and dont want to go back to all the hectic work and pressured life i left behind. But I must go back and continue what i left. Vacation for me means recharging. And if i choose a place to live, I will prefer to live in a beach house. The sounds of the beach is very soothing to the nerve.

I loved Florida and Niagra Falls and wished I had or could move there. Definitely pretty. I don't have the money to just pack up and leave. My perfect place would be not too hot or cold, and scenic.

I've only been on vacation twice, and both times i went to Myrtle Beach SC, which is very nice, and yes, i thought about how nice it would be to move there, but i prefer staying close to all of my family. If ALL of my family and friends would move there as well, i'd be packing already and leaving tomorrow LOL

I moved one time out of town in my same state. That turned out to be a mistake. I tried to find a job where I move to but it didn't work out so I ended up having to move back to my hometown closer to my family.

Hi Twoey I lived in the States for a year and when it came to coming back to England I really wanted to stay there but since I have been to Africa Kenya and visited their for a number of years each time staying longer I got to know the culture and have friends out there to be perfectly honest Africa is the place I would love to live-unless you have actually been there it may seem like the worst place and people think me nuts but to see the sunsets see the lizards and beautiful birds and animals the culture and poverty you wouldn't understand but I call it God's country your friend littleowl

I have the same character of my mom.my mom do not like to stay ta a unfamilar place even just for one night. I still remember when i was just a child, everytime i went to visit a relative's, i would not stay at there overnight.
