Has anybody ever met an online friend in person?

lol i did for the first time. I had been talking to someone on facebook for about 3 months and she invited me out to meet her and hang out with her and her friend. as it turns out, we both fell really hard for eachother, the feelings we both feel for eachother, in the short amount of time, is completely unlike us both. We both ripped through eachothers defenses in a matter of a day. Taking things slow otherwise, but can't really control how you feel about someone. I have never had someone strip through all my defenses before, even after being together for years, and she makes me feel alive, and feel that it is ok to show my depression and not have to feel like i should hide it all the time. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for us.

I've met dozens and dozens of them over the years. It started off with AOL not long after I got on the internet back, oh, 10-11 years ago. We used to have chat rooms for different locations, and a bunch of us that frequented the NC chat rooms would get together for parties and stuff all the time. More recently, a few years ago several of my online Christian friends from an email group got together at my house in MN, one even flew in from California and another drove in from Missouri. I met another of those girls several times as she lived in SD; I even went to stay and help with her kids when she had to have surgery, and her family came out to visit a couple of times. In the last two years I'd been involved with a website for Marines (former, retired, still active, etc) and have gotten to know hundreds of them pretty well. Several times we had gatherings of up to a dozen or more of us at a time (one for a full weekend at my home in NC), and several dozen of us met in DC last March for a gathering against war protesters. So yea, I've meet loads of online friends in person ...

I've met quite a few people from online now. Usually from vegetarian or pet message boards. So far it's all been good experiences. Generally I've met up with people I met online at expos and conventions and things like that.

Yes, I've already met a really nice person ^^ She's my best friend for 10 years! We used to be members of a band fanclub, then one day I was reading the fanzine on the part of member's e-mails and address! I just saw her name and decided to start talking to her, she replied to me and then we used to be online everyday talking about the band and about ourselves. When I first met her, it was on the first fanclub reunion I was in. I think it works, you can meet nice people on the net, but people have to be careful about that too, specially children because not everyone has good intentions... Even if I knew my friend was from the same fanclub, I didn't tell her too personal things until I saw her for the first time and talked to her for a little more time. And if anyone is gonna meet someone for the first time, it's better to go to public places with a friend.

I've actually met two people in person that I met on line. One was a male. We were online friends for several months before we met in person and we dated for some time. I also have a very close girlfriend that I met online. I met her in a myspace group then found out she lives in the area I grew up in. We just met face to face for the second time last week. Both times we have met in person it seems like we've known each other our entire lives. Spent about 5 hours together with our kids in tow. Then when I got home we spent 11 hours on the phone LOL. The first time we got together, we went to a haunted theater. The last time we went to a metaphysical shop. We had a great time both times

yes, I really do. I meet my online friend in person and become my partner. It is very interesting to meet someone whom you started to become friends online. it is fun!!!!

Yes, my fiancee and I met from America Online and we've been together happily for 8 Years, I have also made many other friends online, I think its the best way to meet a friend or a partner because you know them by personality first! I think personality is everything when it comes to a partner and a friend of course!

Oh yes, I have met a great online friend in real life, he flew from Sweden to America and stayed with me for a month (we knew each other a year by then), and then we fell madly in love and I will fly over there to Stockholm, Sweden for a month myself . I am very very excited to stay with his family over there and experience the holiday culture, and the culture overall! We will also tour some of Europe, like Barcelona, Spain, and Berlin, Germany as well! . I am glad that you have also had a good experience with someone online as well, they are not all creeps out there haha

yea i had tht exp once....we used to spk in yahoo for a few days...& she was realy spkin well & she later askd my phone numbr but dint giv hers...suddnly after a few days she rung me & said she as gonna go4 shoppin & called me if i cn come..i went & she turned up...she was lookin gud...we later went shoppin wit her & i kept silnt all thro t day dint advice wat2 buy as she was buyin dresses..she at times askd me if its nice2 wear...aft tht day i felt like a jerk bec i did nothng...& she too dint spk much wit me aft tht...i felt she dint like me as i was tooo gud (thts wat she said)..nw very rarely we spk online..i feel bad missin her

No, Never met any online friend in person. I have one online friend from quite a long time say arround 8 years, still havent met him. His name is Ahsan and he is from UK. He was just 11 when i met him online. Since we are in contact and hopefully one day we will meet in Person. Looking foward for that day. It will be very nice if that happens.
