Yesterday was the golden day for India In Olympics. Abhinav Bindra won the first individual Gold for India. but it seems the good spirit continued for just one day. Again today the bad days are back. Rathore and Jung could not qualify. it seems again we have to be satisfied with one medal. Why India performs so dismal in any games competetion?

I hope it the beginning... You need a talent hunt..proper sponsors..I mentioned yesterday...how about reality shows for different events , with sponsors .. Just like you have in INDIA , for singing and dancing. If some one serious.. this would bring more glory to nation , in the world of sports...

Lets not be too negative minded as well. Why we compare everything with cricket. Cricket has grown of its own. Why not others grow. Previously indian hockey was great. why didn't they keep the momentum or build the fans base around the game. they failed. but cricket is capitalizing on its fortunes. It all depends on good selection of people and good practice. Internationally people practice for years and our people practice for months. there comes the difference. Also there are factors like selecting policy, influence, recommendation, ....

Simple reasons.. 1) Separate the political influence in picking up the olympic contigent and in all fields of sports.. 2)Officials must utilise the fully alloted funds to develop the infrastructure,.. and in organising skill finding camps and training camps..

dearest, i think you should be proud that india has at least one one gold... the first one ever in an olympics games i heard... that is a very big honor for the athlete... i am still waiting for the squad to win any medal... but more importantly... they must represent the country doing their level best... if they dont win any medal... no matter..
