Do you care about the impressions of other people? 
How about when you are online? Are you careful that people might have consider you in a negative manner? I attended a training before wherein we were made to understand that what we do will only affect us but also our country. This is because we were supposed to be the representatives of our nation as such our behavior will, in a way, create an impression on those coming from other places. We were ourselves but we are aware that we carry the good name of our country. 
How about when you are online? Are you careful that people might have consider you in a negative manner? Yes, I do care, but not because I represent my country or for any reason like that. Treat others the way you want to be treated is just my rule of thumb.

hi breadthless, you have made a strong point. In real life that's what brings success. The way you treat, you have every right to expect similiar treatment. If they fail to honor your treatment, well, in that case few things may be considered. Isn't it?

Hi diutay,
To be honest I don't really get the impression of people having negative manner on online but what I would say is I live in the U.K and I' proud of my country and I'm sure that each on of the Mylooters are proud of their country as well.

well yes i do care about what my impression is in other peoples mind. after all human being is a very social animal. he cant just stay in the society and not care what other people think or what opinion or impression other people are having.

When I was in the Military, I had to travel all over the world, and I was always very aware of how I acted and what I said in or out of uniform. When I lived aboard my sailboat and had my Captains liscense it was the same. You are an ambassador for your Country wherever you go. Just as in the area that you live you represent your Family name and should never besmirch it and denigrate your ancestors or those who come after you.

I do care about the impressions of other p;eople and try to
make a good impression. however here on mylot I have met some
who want to judge me and they dont really know me. oh sure they know I am a senior citizen and some may know I live with my son, and I am a widow. But some have judged me as timid and
and unlearned in political matters and you know what I really '
dont give a flying damn. I am who I am and thats good enough
for me, so it should be okay for you. I dont pretend to be somebody else. I am just myself.I make no apologies whatsoever.

I don't give two spits in an invisible spitoon about impressions.
When you get to 57 years of age they simply don't matter.
I have experienced too much, seen too much, know too much, to be infleunced this way.
Besides, I come from a third rate country that is currently trying to tell everyone they are really first rate and I personally know its a lot of high-blown crapingdung.
The world is just not that new, people, who are you trying to impress ?
