Have you ever had a mouse in the house?

I live in a century house and we live in an area that has lots of trees and fields. We have lots of birds, rabbits, deer that run around outside. Occasionally we get a mouse in the house. A little field mouse that is common around here. I always freak out and make my husband set a trap and then dispose of the mouse. We usually get them in the winter and I always know because of the signs ( mouse droppings or the cat going crazy). Tonight I am on mylot reading discussions and my husband was outside cutting the grass. I hear the cat in the kitchen and go to see what she is doing and she has a mouse in her mouth. I freaked out. I grabbed my two kids and went out on the porch and closed the door. I saw the cat in my living room put the mouse down and the mouse is just sitting there looking at the cat. I grabbed my husband off the lawnmower and made him come in and get the mouse out of the house. He thinks I am crazy - he said it was so small you shouldn't even call it a mouse. I don't care - I don't want it in my house. What about you? Ever have a mouse in your house?

We have mouse in our homes all the time. They are integaral part of our household. We never bother to catch them as they hide under the small holes or pipes. When they start multiplying then only we try to catch them and release them out.Donot get hyper over a small harmless mouse.Dont u enjoy watching Tom and Jerry.

Yes I do like Tom and Jerry but on tv not in my house. Our cat brought the mouse right to me and dropped it, I had the mouse and the cat looking at me. I kept calm but I didn't want my two little kids to see it. I don't know how they would of reacted and I don't need them not wanting to go to bed because they are afaid there is a mouse in the house.

Yes, I've had mice in the house before and it is not a pleasant feeling at all! They are gross, nasty and ruin things. The minute I see one I go and buy the glue traps and put them down everywhere. Also, sometimes my cat brings me little "presents" that never actually made it into the house. After I catch the little bugger I spray everything thorougly with Lysol to clean up any potential hazards. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!

I am so far lucky in this house - not a single mouse yet! I thank my neighbors cats, they have an awful lot of them that like to roam through our yard and woods! I have lived in other places with mice though and I HATED it! They left such a mess and one night went through our silverware drawer...talk about gross! I know I soaked that stuff in clorox for hours, but then was afraid to use it still. I even went so far as to borrow my mom's cat, an excellent mouser, but she didn't get them out either! I will hope we still don't get mice...hopefully you can find a new home for yours!

I live in the country and every once in a while a little field mouse will get in the house. I try to get to them before my cat's do and release them back outside far away from the house.

i used to get mice in the house all the time. general i'd just catch them in a cup and either feed them to my cats or just throw them outside. never really understood the fear of mice or where it stems from, but i guess thats just because i've never felt it...

yes, we still have mice in the house right now!! well, i do clean the house of course but we still have them. i seldom see them but i do hear them squeak. when i clean the house, i cant find even one of the mice, and when i am not cleaning, there are times when i see a mouse wandering. we bought fly catcher and use them to catch mice. we would put the fly catcher in the dark parts of the house where mice would pass and when they step into the sticky fly catcher, then they would get stuck! there was one time,a mouse was caught through the fly catcher.. it's still alive and it tries to get out of the sticky pad, but to no avail. we just throw it into the trash bin right away!

For several months or so, I lived in a mountain area near a lake, and of course there were a lot of shrubs, trees, bushes, and etc. We had a constant mouse infestation, and sometimes we found mice in the house. Mom even said that one scurried across her face once while she was sleeping. We had to put out mouse traps, and we caught a few that way. It was bad, as mice leave droppings everywhere, and spread diseases.

I used to live in a house before I got married, and occasionally we used to get rats in the house. I guess rats and mice are not much different. The ones I've encountered are not very big, about 4 or 5 inches in length. They come down from the roof through a hole in the ceiling board, and run along the vertical walls. Sometimes they hide behind my kitchen cabinets, and I will search them out and shoot them with rubber bands. At times, I also set some rat traps in the house at night, and I had been successful in catching quite a few rats with these traps. I dislike rats because they are a menace and a health hazard...they bite anything when they are hungry, even newspapers, wires, wrapped up food, etc.

Well, I don't have any in my house however, here at work, we seem to have been invaded by rats on steroids. I saw evidence, and we purchased glue traps. We put some food on them and left. The next day, the food had beem eaten, however, the rats had freed themselves. We could see the outline of their bodies on the glue. Then we went out and bought the big, old-fashioned traps. Well to date we have caught 11. Some were normal size, but a couple were about the length of my hand. We've just called an extermination service, because if they've caught 11, I'm sure there are 1100 lurking behind the walls. I just yelled and screamed when I saw one scampering across the floor. I'm petrified of them!

I am like you I hate them, I am afraid of them and do not want them in my house. Years ago, when I was married to my ex husband, my son was under one year old. I was coming out of the shower and looked down the hall and saw this silly mouse sitting on the floor. I put something on quickly, wrapped my son up and threw something at the mouse so that I could pass him and get out the door. I sat in my car for about three hours waiting for my ex to come home from work. thankfully that night he came straight home, he was like, what are you doing out here, I told him about the mouse, he went into the house, came out shortly and said , you are afraid of this. He had the mouse by the tail with pliers. I screamed and told him never do that again. So, to answer your question, NO, I do not have mice in my house, I would not live with them, we would have to move.

In our old house, yes we have, every now and then, we saw one or two mouses and my father will set some mouse traps to captured it. Like you, I also don't want it in my house, they are so dirty and there are illnesses that we can get from it. Thank god, in our new house, there were no mouse, we have a problem instead on cockroaches and different kind of insects, maybe because we are living in a province, so there were plenty of them.

Successfully my sister get rid all the mouse in our house. She set a mouse trap everyday until no mouse is left. I pity them sometimes, especially the baby mice. But our health is more important than them. I hope they understand.

I don't want mouse in my room. It will chew something to wear it teech short and often damage things. It will eat dirty trash and they spread disease. It appearance is ugly, who have long tail, long mustache and little eyes. It steal cloth to make its nest and give birth a lot of little mice.
