A cantilever beam 6 meters long, 200mm x 400mm is loaded by a uniform load (w) over its entire span. the maximum allowable bending stress (fb) is 9.5 mega pascals (MPA) and the maximum allowable shearing stress (fv) is 1.5 mega pascals (mpa)
determine:
1. the maximum safe uniform load that the beam can carry.
2. the moment inertia of the section at neutral axis
3. the section modulus of the section
4. the maximum moment of the beam
5. the maximum shear of the beam

Didn't your teacher discussed how this could be solved? If not, I'm sure it's in some references. Maybe you should check them out.
