I am turning 17 in January so I have been working all summer and saving for a car. As of now i have no idea at all of what car I should get for a first car. I was wondering if I could get a couple suggestions for a first car. Keep them reasonable. No BMW's or Mercedes or Ferari's or anything like that. I want a good, reliable cheap used car. Thanks

good for you for looking and planning ahead. now, it has to be safe. it has to be good on gas. if you life in winters, it has to be good in the snow. how much do you think you will have saved? that helps make a choice, too. insurance is a big influence. 2 doors will cost more in insurance than 4 doors. your first car ! how exciting for you. vehix has lots of good info to use.

Its good that the high gas prices now dont demotivate you from buying a car. I would recommend you to go for Japanese cars, since they always have a good efficiency rate. Since your buying a used car try to test drive it for at least an hour or two cause then only you will be able to find its faults. I suggest you try to look for a small car since it will usually have better acceleration and better fuel efficiency. If you have enough cash try to modify it the way you like it. Anyways there not a better feeling than buying your first car, so make a wise choice, to do this you need to do alot of research.
