Every insurance company has ads telling us we can save money switching to them.

I'd love to know exactly HOW we would be saving money? Exactly which insurance company is SO EXPENSIVe that switching from it would save us so much money? I know you've all seen the commercials on TV: "We can save you $500 by switching to us", or "up to $347 by switching". Switching from WHAT? Where are these statistics coming from??? They never mention that in the commercials! Has anyone ever checked these out to find out if these are true statistics or if they are making them up on the spot? Does this bother you as much as it bothers me? I just feel like these commercials are completely wasting my time. It makes me want to change channels on the TV just so I won't see that particular one again, at least for awhile, anyway. Anyone else want to vent about these ads?

Hi MM I often get phone calls or people coming to my door mainly asking me to switch my gas and electricity supplier, it annoys me something chronic so I tell them politely to 'get lost!', all these people must think we stupid wanting to think they are cheaper all the time, I once did change my supplier and ended up in trouble with the new supplier so went back to my old supplier and have had no problems since...LoLo

If anyone came to my door and told me I could save money on my electricity and gas by switching, I'd tell them I AM switching... to solar power. That would throw 'em through a loop! LOL

Pay what you feel you can afford to whatever company you want. But they all have one thing in common----none of them will cough it up without a fight when it's time to pay off.

Actually, the company I used to be with was great at paying when I needed it. The only thing was that I rarely needed it! I had a tree limb blast through my rear window once during a wind storm and they sent me a check really fast. When my parked car was hit by a hit-and-run driver, they came out and took pictures because one of my tires was slashed in the accident (from my quarter panel going through it). Within a few days I had a check in my hand! But they wanted me to pay MORE because I moved to an area they considered "high risk" even though I am not a high risk driver! I never once had to file a claim while I lived in that area. I'm glad I switched.

oh yeah i know!! i have maybe saved like 100 bucks or something from switching to one to another one when i did those "see whos rate is better" sites.. the only thing i can think of is that they had like an expensive car/house with full coverage and traded it in for something cheap and put the least amount of coverage possible.. then i might believe the 500 thing.. but im picturing mansion to trailer park though lol

All this companies , sell promises... after taking a lot of money from you, they hand you a bunch of papers ( insurance policy ) The real ordeal starts when you claim something...then you know where you stand.. It is just like young couple starts dating..During this dating periods , if she ask to come at 7 o clock, he will be there at 6.30 ... Once married , and having everything done ,if she ask to come at 7 , he will tell her, no i can't.I will reach by 9... and she keeps waiting
