I was heavily addicted to drinking tea and coffee and would find it impossible to start my day without it. As I spend 5-6 hours in front of the computer I would end up drinking 4-5 cups a day. I felt sleepy if I did not have my morning or evening cuppa. My friend one day asked me to try green tea. I found it very refreshing and gradually overcame my desire to have several cups. Now I drink a cup of tea sometimes and have my green tea once in the morning. It is a powerful anti-oxidant and also effective in lowering LDL Cholesterol Levels. It comes in various flavors too like lemon, honey, mint.

That's great. I recently tried giving up tea and coffee as I was being raw vegan and found it very hard and felt a bit depressed, especially not having a hot drink in winter. I cut down by drinking decafe and dandelion coffee. It's funny, when I travel around China, I mostly drink green tea and don't find it too difficult. They have hot water everywhere there, even on trains so you can make your own cup (people carry cups and tea with them). But being back in a western country you tend to get addicted to tea and coffee again. Anyway now I hardly ever drink it, if I do I drink organic decaf, or green tea (especially at Asian restaurants it goes really well with the food). I really like green jasmine tea. Be careful if you are having green tea with flavours, check that it is natural and they haven't added lots of unnatural flavours and sugar. I have recently been wondering about white tea, I think it may be even healthier than green tea and less processed, it is younger - I don't think it is cooked at all. One good thing about drinking green tea compared to tea and coffee is I don't add sugar or milk so it is better for your system altogether.

Thankyou Rintis for the b.r.. I just bought some white tea and it is really nice, gentler than green tea. I posted a discussion about white tea on mylot and received some informative replies about it's benefits if you are interested!

Green tea can benifit us a lot and it tastes good in summer. It can refresh you from sleepiness, tiredness and heat. It is a good summer beverage. In winter black tea is better than green tea. Black tea tastes more heavy. Hot black tea will make you warm and provide you with vitamin.
