is the myth saying that women are bad drivers right?

it is believed especially in my country where we can get driving license easily, much more easily than in other countries. we can even get it without attending driving test (or attending it but they will surely let us pass), as long as we don't mind to spend more money. i don't want to generalize them. yes maybe some women drive badly - maybe their skill is ok. what i notice is...sometimes women drive as if they don't realize that they are not alone on the road. they will turn left or right at the moment their mind think of it. they often suddenly brake. maybe they will let the sign on with no purpose (especially for motorbike rider). they hit the wall behind them when they park...... but of course not all women do that. there are many women driving politely and safely; and men also often act annoying on the road. so, what do you think?

I think it will just stay as a myth. I've seen real good women drivers our there. I have a friend who is, I can say, equally skilled as I am. (I miss her ). Anyway, I think it is more individual rather than in gender. I've seen most ladies drive more slowly compared to men. I for one am a fast driver myself. But I can't say if they're good or not. It depends really on how each one of us handle and deal with different road situations. There are some, yes, who really drive badly and hit cars and posts. But even some of the men experience the same situation. Stay safe everyone!

yes i agree with you, that's just a myth. well, it doesn't matter if they drive fast of slow (as long as it's still tolerable ) i think a good driver drives skillfully and safely, always aware of other vehicles on the road, know when to stop or move or turn, park nicely and efficiently. above all, underlining your message: stay safe!

It is believed that women are a step lower in all fields except homemaking.Even there are bad men drivers, its a myth saying that women are bad drivers, but they dont say about men.I have been driving for nearly 15 years and when I drive a jeep there are people still who look arround more than once because am a woman.I dont know when looking upon women inferior to men will disappear?this happens everywhere and I think sometimes that god has also created men women so.do you agree?

hi sumiirajj, that's great, you seem to be an experienced driver maybe for them, a woman driving a jeep is as unusual as a man wearing gown well, i think it's time to stop thinking that women are inferior to men. thx for sharing it here.

This is because women oftentimes lack practice because it is uncommon for women to drive in some countries. Men usually do the driving, so women have less exposure and therefore commit more mistakes.

I believe that it's not true as well. Though I have had my fair share of women drivers that are very bad( such as turning without using signal lights, changing lanes immediately and cutting on the highway), I believe that a lot of men are also bad drivers. I don't know why women get singled out because I have a lot a lady friends that are great drivers. I think it all boils down to how the "driver" learned how to drive and the character of the driver itself. For me, the real character of the person shows when he/she is driving.

hi frosterd, well you are right. i like your last sentence that the real character of the person shows when he/she is driving. it's nothing to do with our gender. thx for responding

IT IS A MYTH!!!! There are good drivers and bad drivers. They are both men and women. And sorry to say it's not all women. I will tell you that I am a far better driver than most guys. I am not saying all as there are many guys out there that are better drivers than me. I have been an experienced driver for over 10 years now. With that I have a normal car/truck licence as well as my semi and my motorcycle licence. That is why I am saying that I am better than most guys. I know the rules of the road and most of the time I will follow the rules. But not usually when I am drive a car or truck. I do however tend to speed but that comes from the drag racing and speed racing years.
