how exactly do you feel when someone compliments your child?

ever since i posted svetlana's pix on the net (here, in my website and..basically everywhere else. hee hee), i've been getting a pretty good number of flattering remarks about her. if i have a dollar for every compliment she has received for the past weeks, I'd have enough money to buy her a month's supply of diapers. hee hee.
you know that feeling when somebody else appreciates how cute your child is apart from you? i admit I'm svet's biggest fan (my mom says i'm crazy, as i tend to look at svet's picture a lot, like we do not see each other every minute of the day) and knowing that others appreciate her too makes me feel somehow proud that i am her mother. every time people say admiring comments about her, i could not help but feel a wonderful glow inside me, and sometimes, a disbelief in how God could've given me such an angel.
i know parents can relate to this, as by nature, we are proud of our little darlings and as much as possible, want others to feel the same way about them, too. how do you feel when someone says something good about your child/children? do you feel that glow too?:D

Yes, she is extremely cute! I can relate to what you're saying exactly, as I was the same with my daughter. I still am actually! When she was a baby we used to take loads of photos and I also used to look at them all the time. Now that she's two I still look at her baby photos and I also look at the photos we take now, and she's still with me all the time, lol!
She is very cute as well and I feel sooo lucky to have her and get to spend time with her. And yes, it is nice when we're out and people compliment her. Thing is she often has this really angelic expression, so people assume that she must be a little angel, - but when we're at home she's not so angelic, lol!
I'm going to have a look at your website .

I'd give them simple smile but deep inside i feel great,i feel proud.I may not be good looking but combined with my husband we produced some good one.Pango nga lang (flat nose)!.My son and my youngest (girl) would get so much compliments particularly to the Arabs-most of them have curly hair and my son has straight hair.Even ladies would love to touch his hair.As with my youngest, she is a darling...she'd love to sing or dance wherever we go-even on street or mall. When i saw svet's picture....i remember her during her early months. She was very healthy also and have cute rounded plump check.one day i'll share it with you also.

though i don't have a child and i object to spoiling child, yet i guess if things really happen to me that someone else criticize my baby, i won't be happy with this. it's my duty to correct him/her not theirs. mind their own business !

Haha I can so relate to you specially when I had my first child (kayil) and until now when he received compliments it made me so proud. He is not my favorite child (I don't have a favorite hehe) but because he is my first, he holds a special place in my heart.

First of all I would like to tell you that you're little darling is just a precious little thing! Children really are aren't they? I am not surprised that you receive the compliments that you do. I really enjoy getting good feed back where my son is concerned.
He will be turning five in September. Just one month away. It is hard to believe that it is already five years. I remember when he was very small that a lot of people like customers in a store would always remark about how cute he is. My son still has a tendency to turn some heads because now he laughs a lot and makes funny remarks.
Children are unique individuals also. They never cease to surprise us do they? And it is true that we as mothers feel happy and proud when someone takes the time to make a wonderful comment about our little ones. The children are our future and we should always take pride in them.

I completely understand, as I too receive tons of compliments of how cute my 2 children are! As thier mother, I have to say that I agree with everyone when they say how cute they are! :) I love being a mom and I think i speak for every mom in this sense that when someone is telling you how cute your children are that it just makes us glow inside. Of course we have a good reason to! We created these cuties!! It's a miracle, I think!
