How many minutes a month do you spend on your cell phone?

Is it odd if a man spends over 5000 minutes a month on a cell phone? That's about 3 1/2 full days of talking in one month! How often do you use your phone? This does not include for work... just for recreational use.

I get 400 minutes a month, that's actually split between my phone and my husband's, but we never seem to use more than 100. That's probably because calls we make to each other's phones don't count.

mobile to mobile is wonderful! Over 4000 of these minutes were mobile to mobile or night/weekend...which are always free.

I don't think it's odd at all. I talk over 5000 minutes a month as well. I have been doing that for quite sometime as well. Seems everyone and their dog have the number so I am constantly making and receiving phone calls. However I don't pay per minute. As I have a plan that gives me unlimited days, evenings and weekends for $30/month. I sure lucked out on that one. However my other cell phone I maybe have 200 minutes on it. Really all depends on how much I use it. I tend to screen my calls quite alot and opted against answering certain phone calls. I do get 500 minutes on this other plan.

Whoa, how in the world did you get that plan?? That's almost unheard of these days!

I picked up that plan about 7 or 8 years ago and have never let it go since as all I have to do is renew it.

I use it very seldom at all. It is not entertainment for me. We prepay two phones so that we each have one in an emergency. I guess if you want to spend so much time on the phone, it is your choice.

lol, it's not me who spends that much time on the phone. I hate the phone!! It's my soon to be ex husbands line. I just wanted to see if maybe I was the abnormal one for not spending so much time on the phone, haha! I'd just rather be with people than on the phone. Personally I think it's rude to be on the cell phone with someone else when you're with other people.

First I would have a hard time distinguishing between work and recreational usage. I basically use my cell phone for business and as a home phone. Even though I have a landline at home I rarely use it for making or taking calls. Lucky for me I have a unlimited minutes plan, but before this came on the scene I easily spent between 800 and 1000 dollars a month! The unlimited plan that I have is with a local company so it only works in the metro area. I have a 2nd phone with AT&T for the times that I am traveling or out of the state. That plan has 450 minutes per month and I have over 4000 rollover minutes. I would probally have more than that but they drop off after 1 year.

$1000 a month??? Seriously? Wow. You definitely need an unlimited plan! :) I love rollover minutes!

Problem is that I never get to use the rollover minutes. I have let other people that have a local phone use it when they are traveling just so that I get to use some of the minutes.

but i use only my cellphone for my work means that i use only 15 to 30 minutes of the day coz i prefer my landphone due to quality of speech

I didn't even have a landline for the longest time. One day those will probably be obsolete, but the quality of speech is better... unless the person you're talking to is using a cell phone!

i can understand ur problem but the fact is fact

Do you really want to know how many minutes I talk on a cell phone? To be honest, zero haha, I just don't see it necessary spending all that extra money each month just to talk to people haha. Now it will suck to get in an emergency situation and not be able to call anyone for help, I think about getting a pay-as-you-go cell phone so I don't have to spend money each month and I will have extra safety with it. But I don't want to worry about that now, I am trying to save up as much money as I can before I go on vacation in December, so a phone will wait.

oooh, vacation would trump a phone for me every time! I love traveling! Pay as you go plans are great! You never know when you might need it.

Wow...Is that all for recreational use? Hmm... I know people who are like that. Here where I live, there's a cellular company that allows you to make unlimited voice and text calls everyday for a certain amount. Of course, it has to be someone using the same services. But you can imagine what you can do with something unlimited like that. Lol. I don't usually call with my cellular phone. I do texting a lot though. I can't keep count anymore as to how many text messages I send in a day. Needless to say, I've made my cellular company rich. Hahaha!

yeah, all for calling "friends" i.e. brother and mom. Sad, isn't it? I spend less than 300 a month! (the person I am referring to about spending over 5000 minutes is my soon to be ex husband) Cellular companies try to rip us off anyway they can! I've sent them my fair share of cash too.

I lowered my plan (which is a pay as you go type plan) to the lowest possible one there was. I only get 300 minutes per month. I will end up with a few minutes left at the end of the month. I don't use it much...only to call my boys when I'm at work or to send my oldest son text messages when he is at work and can't answer his phone.

text messages are great! especially at work!! I use a lot of those too. That's one thing I need unlimited of! My boys are a little too young for cell phones though...ha, they're 2 and 3 months! :)
