It is now permissible for some teachers in areas of Texas to carry arms to and have fire arms in their possession while at school and in the class room. What do you think about this? would you feel more secure having your child attend a class with an armed teacher? or would you be more concerned about a teacher going nutso OR a student or other individual getting a hold of the fire arm and going nutso?

I would definitely not feel comfortable with my child in a class where the district thought it was acceptable to allow teachers to carry arms. That must be an extremely stressful situation for those teachers. I think one of the things that would concern me most is a student getting a hold of the fire arm.

Hi Modetah, that will scare me..I wish there are other ways to solve any problems that they have instead of doing this..that is very dangerous and I do know if there will be peace of mind!

I don't know about this. If the area is a dangerous one, then I believe the teachers should have special training in disarming any possible dangerous situations. It's a huge call though. Maybe security officers in schools and screening for weapons rather than armed teachers.

that would be preferable, but it still would not set well with me sending my children off to such.... I am not looking forward to what I think will soon enough be coming - "marshal law"

I don't think it is a good idea to carry a weapon to school. It can be used to kill someone and they don't want that.
