I have long nails which I manicured and painted. I don't want to ruin it. But I don't think it's good to have really long nails.

It could be unhealthy if you don't clean it constantly. For me, I don't like to have long nails because I feel very uncomfortable while working.

true, djoyce71. the most important thing to remember is to keep it clean always. just like you, i don't like having long nails because it is so uncomfortable when working. but when i need to attend a certain party, i try not to cut it a few days before the party so i can paint them and make them look prettier.

it depends.. its unhealty, when the person does not maintain / clean the nails.. long nails that are not cutted, or clean can aquire germs.. its healty, when the person makes it to a point to clean the nails..

it is not unhealthy for as long as you keep it clean. taking care of your nail is important. does not matter how long or short your nail is, the important thing is that it is clean and free from deadly bacteria. also, just have the right length of nails that you feel comfortable with. just like me, i always have it short because i am uncomfortable having long nails knowing that i type on the computer some hours a day.

I don't know if it's unhealthy, but it does make a lot of every day things diffucult: typing, picking up change. I know I wouldn't want to deal with long nails.

It does contain bacterias that may cause disease. You will touch some things many times with finger and the dirt my adhere on you hand and conceal in the fingernail. The longer, the fingernail will contain more bacteria. You'd better clip it often and don't keep it long.
