How to speak in public?

August 17, 2008 11:43pm CST
hi all, i have a little problem about how to speak in public without getting nervous. i'm not typically like a person who shy to express something by words, but when i have to speak in public sometimes i feel "blank" and i become speechless for a moment. This even make me more nervous. Do you have any suggestions how to become more confidence and to reduce nervous when speak in public? thanx

Keep notecards, so that you can regain your train of thought when you go blank and just try to focus on what you are saying, rather than the people. I have trouble speaking in public sometimes too. Oh, and just a word of advice, if you put more tags on your discussions, it will make it easier for others to them, so you will get more responses.

thanx sketch.. notecards are good idea. i always try to focus to what i must say but don't forget we also must to look at their faces. The time i look to their faces was my head get blank.

You don't have to look at their faces, you just have to appear to be looking at their faces. Just look at the wall behind them. The bigger the crowd, the easier this is. Have a smiley day

Hi Daniel, I used to have the same promblem, when I speak with people, usually who I don't know, my head goes blank. I hated when that happens. However, now I'm over it. Though, it still happens to me from time to time, but I can manage. I can now make friends without even trying. The key is just don't over think things. I know that it wont be easy in the begining, but I promise you it will get easier, you just need to start. Don't bore others with too much details. Also, you should remember that you don't have to start a conversation with anyone, just be part of it. I hope that what I have mentioned helps you in making new friends, and remember don't overthink ok. best wishes friendx
