Now I am dissappointed!

Yesterday I reached 200 posts. Woohooo! I usually don't start too many discussions and I always thought we would get credit for responding to comments on our discussions. But, after responding to all the comments I received on two different posts yesterday, I only received one point above the 200. Is this right? Whenever I respond to someone else's discussion I get credit for it. What is the point in carrying on a discussion you've started if you are wasting your time, money wise.

Hi Nokia. I believe you're right and the second post above explains it as well. Have a great day my friend..

I don't know about the ratings or the number of posts. I don't pay much attention to that. I don't think you are wasting your time with resonding/commenting on your discussions that you have started though. Whenever I comment the responses I get on my discussions my earnings always go up. Not only that people see that you are actually reading their responses and taking time to respond back to them. So in the long run they might respond to more of your discussions. I definately don't think it is a wast of time or money wise. I think my earnings always go up whenever I do that. Your post or ratings might not go up.

You receive a point for every discussion that you respond too and when you start a discussion and one person responds then you get a point for that. If you are starting a discussion, you are starting it to discuss and so you do that through all the opinions that you get back off people that respond. If you only want a point then you would be best just responding to other peoples discussions.

Not True. Please see the second response above and I think it will make it clearer. Have a great day my friend.

you do not get a point for commenting on your own discussion, i have done enough posts and discussions to know what i get a point for and what i dont.

When i'm on mylot i do not count the number of posts i make and just try to share and discuss with others. As to your count just being at 201 it might be that other discussions you responded to got deleted. The number of posts you make does not always necessarily mean that you will get more money. Sometimes you get more money with less posts and you might have not lost anything money wise. Good Luck and happy posting!

Thanks Bigtom. I think Everlasting explained it well. We get paid for our responses to our own discussions but our points or ratings do not go up. Even now, the number next to my name is still 202 since starting this discussion. Have a great day my friend.

I dont think that you are wasting your time when you comment on your own discussions. It shows the people that have took their time out and responded to your discussions that it is apprectiated. Maybe you only cot one credit for it because you only did one sentence when you commented back. I personally did not know that you can get credit for commenting to responses on your discussions. Have you tried asking Mylot what is going on.

Hi Tigger. Check out the second response and you will see what I now believe is actually happening. I don't mean to say that I would not respond and be sociable with the MyLotters who respond to my posts. I was only saying that, as far as making money (since, I falsely assumed that we only got money when our numbers increased) it was sort of a waste of effort. Thank you for your advice. Have a great day my friend.

I have wondered about that myself. Thank you for posting this now I have a better understanding of points and earnings. Even if we don't get points for answering people who have responded to our comments, we still get paid for it, I am ok with that, lol! Congrats on reaching 200 may reach a 1000 very soon!

Hi flte74. Yeah, it's good to be able to ask a question and get help with our problems. That's one of the best things about Mylot for me. good Luck on reaching your goal too. Have a good evening my friend.

well, i think we get paid for responding to our own discussions... definitely yes... but how much is it, i don't know... of course not a one line response... otherwise you won't get paid... you are definitely not wasting your time by responding to your own discussions... i can assure you of that... take care and have a nice day...

Yes, as I have learned in this discussion, I agree, we do get paid for all our comments on our own and others discussions. Have a good evening my friend.

that's how it works yes, but you do get paid for responding to those that answer you post. so it's kind of a give and take thing. that's why when you start a post you should keep it open and refresh it so you can answer any new ones. then open up another window so you can go around and answer friends post. this why you are building numbers and money

I have found that if you don't worry about the money and the points, and just have a good time discussing and making friends, this is a very nice site. Have fun with the discussions and enjoy life. You will make money from it but you will have a good time in the process. I have met a lot of wonderful people on this site and made a lot of terrific new friends. The money I make from it is just an added benefit.

I understand what you felt. Its hard when you expecting something and you didn't get it. Maybe in time you will learn and studied on to maximize your earning here in mylot. Im a newbies in this money making internet system. And im glad because mylot is the first among others that i joined who had paid me. Before i don't spend lots of time with mylot but when i received my first payment its encourage me.

Hi Reyah. So, how do you get paid with only 137 next to your name? Does that mean you've been doing a lot of responding to comments on your own discussions? LOL! Thanks for the advice and have a great evening.

I have since ignored the number beside my posts. I believe that commenting on our own discussions is considered as participation in myLot and it does count in the earnings. So it does not matter whether you start or respond to discussions, you will still earn something.

That is a good point Sydney. But if you are trying to reach a goal like 500 as I think we both are, you would want to raise that number next to your name, right? Have a good night my friend.

The number beside our username I think denotes the number of postings we have had here, whether you started the discussion or replied to others' discussions or your own. I don't think you should worry yourself about that as much. Instead of monitoring your posting figure, maybe you should focus either on your credits or aspire to get a "star" sooner. Worry if your credit decreases, like some of us here(I've now experienced it so I know exactly the feeling although I still don't get why and how???), because that would mean only one thing...there's something that you're doing or you've done that wasn't right.

Please read and learn. That is why we ask questions like this so we can get the opinions of our co-MyLotters. If you were to read the early responses to this discussion you would find that you are out voted when it comes to the number of posts including your responses on discussions you start. Have a good evening my friend.

Thanks for your discussion. I think I am catching on now. When I respond to you, you post a respond back to me and get more points. Is that what everyone is saying?

Hi Hilligirl311. Welcome and Good luck with your MyLotting too. What I think they are saying is that you get a point for commenting on my discussion and I get a point for starting it. When I respond to your comment my earnings will go up but my number will not change. Have a good evening.

I really do not understand how some of that works. I am finally getting up there....500 still seems a long ways from me. I was excited when I broke the $1 mark and then the $2 mark! Most days I get about .18, my best day has been .21. But I keep plugging along in the hopes that I will someday reach payout *sigh*

I think you do get credited for responding to responses to discussions you started. Unless you respond with a simple thank you that is. The same rule applies: make sure your responses are at least 4-5 sentences long in order to get credited for it. Otherwise you won't. If you're responses are long and meaningful, then I'm sure you earnings will be adjusted after a while. You also get credited if the discussions you started become popular and a lot of people respond to it. :)

Thanks Mimico. But, as explained in response two it looks like we get earnings for those posts but not point credits. In other words, If you are trying to reach the goal of 500 as I am now, you will not get there by just responding to others comments on your discussions. But you will still get earnings for those posts.

I think your wrong you might got the mark day by day only right see atleast 4 to 5 lines you have type and not just a line. You have to really respond and not for money sake or name sake got it. Just going on trying you will get success one day reply with full effort and not name for name sake ok take care

Hi Manoj, Have you been here before? You sound like you know a lot for a newbe? Anyway, if you look below you will see some more plausible reasons. I think the next response says it well. Maybe that is why I have more earnings than posts if we get paid for the response even though we don't get the points next to our name. Thanks for you advice.
