Pushing food at you?

What do you do when people push food at you? You're going out to dinner and mom puts a plate in front of your face. or You've already declined seconds and you get asked over and over again if you want more. or Somebody knows you're on a diet and they are pushing dessert at you, trying to send food home with you, etc. Do you speak up for yourself and say no or do you take it?

I used to take it. But I think I've grown alot over the past few years and I stand up for myself more. If I don't want it I will just say no until they stop asking me. Especially if I'm trying to lose weight. If I'm in a situation where the person will be insulted if I don't take food home with me then I take it and either give it to my kids if they want it or just throw it away at home.

I try to say no but many times the significant other says yes. Oh well, he's in charge of taking the trash out. lol

It would depend how many times they ask. The first few times I'll say, no thank you, I'm full. If it starts becoming a problem I might say "Will you stop forcing me to eat more if I've said I'm full."

There is definitely a point where you have to put your foot down for your own health, sanity and/or self respect!
