What do you think about Joey de Leon?

I watched the news last night on ABS-CBN and there was a portion there wherein Willie Revillame was defending Pokwang because of Joey de Leon's alleged joke/whatever calling Pokwang 'Aswang'. I think the video's gaining hits all over youtube. Honestly, I'm bothered by Joey de Leon's 'naughty' attitude. He's (naughty/joker/comedian) nature goes overboard sometimes and it gets pfft sometimes. Lol. Do you guys get what I mean? xD I'm not a fan of Pokwang nor Wowowee but what the heck right? Why can't he just work with his mother station peacefully and stop bothering people over at ABS-CBN? Oh well. Any opinions about this?

Haha I get your point. I can't find a video in youtube but I would still like to comment on this one. I really don't what's the real deal and how Joey delivered his joke about pokwang. The thing is sometimes Joey gets a bit out of hand, i remember the time when he poked on Toni Gonzaga, if my memory serves me right, it came to a point that he insulted Toni and said that the girl is all about the money. I just can't get him then, people chose to leave kapuso and he bashes on these people. Why can't respect their decision? I think he also bashed on Angel and AiAi when they transferred to ABS. I knew Joey has principles on his own, but I don't get him. He is funny sometimes and sometimes his jokes are below the belt. I don't about this Pokwang issue but I am sure Pokwang did not mind this and I think Willie also over react on this. Maybe Joey goes low below the belt poking but in the end if you get affected, you lose (pikon talo in Filipino) Just ignore Joey and I am sure he'll shut up in the end.

Yes, I remember that Toni Gonzaga issue clearly. Pfft. Sometimes he thinks that GMA 7 is all the best and when GMA stars transfer to ABS-CBN, he keeps on bashing them. Oh well. Haha. Thanks for responding anyway.

Dear Jaded22, Joey De Leon is already an institution in the entertainment industry for many years, but he is fading already. He keeps on insulting other people in the idustry, so that he is always seen and heard, to keep his popularity. When some body is getting a name in the industry, a person like Joey will ride on hi popularity. Remember Rene Requistas, whom he introduce in hi movie "Barok". Rene was a sensation, and turns out to be a great comedian. Joey De Leon was out of the limelight, so he tries to get the attention of the press by insulting Rene as do not know how he gets in the top of the limelight. That is Joey De Leon, who also made noises to Pokwang as being "Aswang" so that he can also ride on her popularity to still make him more popular. If the television networks are gone, there would never be any Joey De Leon in the movies.

Hey there. Lol. I'm not familiar with the Rene Requistas issue but once again, there you go. I do agree, sometimes he really rides on popularity. Oh well. But then again, he's still Joey de Leon.

I watched the video... and i found the song very funny... i don't know why Pokwang should be offended... she herself is a comedian... and has poked fun at other artists... i think Willie Revillame is just using the situation to get more attention... the joke should not be taken seriously...

Hi I agree, that Joey can't really just discriminate anybody because of his or her appearance. Even though he may be in the business for a long long time, it doesn't give him or anybody at that a right to just put down someone because of the appearance. It's all about respect, because I'm sure he gets a lot of respect in the business because of the time he is in it. But he must also be able to give out respect to the new comers. No one has the right to put down someone because of physical appearance. What I can say to Mr. De Leon is that get his act straight. Pokwang is human and Pokwang has feelings, he should respect her. Because I know that she respects him.

Thank you for responding. Well said. I don't know why he keeps on targeting people's physical appearances. He should just respect this newcomers in the industry.

I think he should stop it and mind their own businesses. Respect for each other is what they should learn. Stop saying stuffs from each other. And I think Mr. Joey de Leon should be nice. He is in the industry for a very long time, Pokwang has feelings too. She may not look good in Joey's eyes, but she is still human. like what I learned in Taekwondo, "if you cant respect a taekwondo jin by his belt/rank, respect him for his age and being human".

hi there, I really really agree with you. I mean, Pokwang is just doing her job and here comes Joey de Leon bothering her a lot. He's been in the Philippine Entertainment Industry for a long time now, and he really needs to respect people. I'm observing that these days, that's what I think is missing with him. Thank you for responding. :)

that was really cruel and very uneducated of joey to make fun of Pokwang that way. as a veteran, he should know his limits and he should refrain from making jokes that will hurt not only the person involved but their family as well. why does he keep targeting wowowee? because of station rivalry? that's really pathetic of him. he should just focus on his own noontime show and keep his jokes to himself.

Hey there shadowlurker, I so agree with you. WELL SAID. Its like he's insecure or something about Wowowee. I really don't know. He couldn't just keep quiet, do his job with his mother station. Instead, he keeps on insulting people at ABS-CBN. Very uneducated at times. Really. I must say. Thanks for responding.

here is my opinion about joey de leon: he is so insecure of wowowee and pokwangs popularity that he is even scared he would lose his job any minute...think of an old man thinking backwards...nagbabata na si joey so huwag nyo ng patulan. and in pokwang's reaction? OA lang naman din she works as a comedienne and she makes fun of other peoples look so why be hurt? and to wellie? mayabang ka sobrah.

Hi jaded, I read it in the news and can't stop but judge Joey for being immature, I hope being in the business for so long will help these people learn more about being sports, not just attacking to each other personally, a lot of people and kids are watching them! Not a good image!

Hi jaded22, As a Filipino citizen it also bothers me about Mr Joy De Leon's attitude and words. He is in the entertainment industry and he is not entertaining anymore, he is annoying people of his inappropriate and bad comments about other people. I am not either 'kapuso' nor 'kapamilya' because I am not much of a fun of our actors or actresses. I am still a filipino but the thing is the entertainment industry is not as fun as before because of such annoyances. They say bad things abut other artists so ht they will be noticed. So eventually I lay low on supporting them. Entertaining is a work for them but not to the extent of saying bad things about others for their gain. Take care and let's help each other raise the Filipino values. God bless you

There are times I hated Joey de Leon, there are times are not. Pokwang can handle the situation, In my opinion the joke is immune to Pokwang because she attends comedy bars. This comedy bar have many insulted jokes. I do not understand Joey sometimes, or maybe Joey always want attention to boost their ratings or hence maybe not

Eh. Joey de Leon's been doing this for a long time now, targeting ABS-CBN and it's people, I mean. Did it start when Eat Bulaga moved channels? I'm not sure, but, yeah. He's been known for his, uh, less than stellar opinions on his rival network. It isn't really that new. I was put-off by it, though, because, as far as I know, he and Pokwang had no interaction and Pokwang did nothing against him in any way or form. I'm sure these comedians have their own politics and behind-the-scenes stories, but Pokwang, from what we, as media consumers, have seen, did nothing against Joey. She was just doing her job. Sure, she uses her face for comedic laughs, but Joey's joke came off too insulting to be funny. (Plus, there was the thing about Pokwang's daughter getting the short end of the stick. That just wasn't cool.) Joey has been in the news lately, though. Makes one wonder about him. But he's good at what he does. I doubt he'll receive flack from this.

I think that's the thing. Joey de Leon's been in the industry for so long. He should be mature enough right? What he's doing sometimes is not funny anymore. Its insulting. Oh well. Whatever. Lol Thanks for responding.

in fairness to Mr. Joey De Leon, since I watch Eat Bulaga often, though it does not mean that I am fond of the show too, Joey does not comment or initiate talk war usually. I am not sure though but on this specific issue, I heard that it's Pokwang who started the comments thing. Well, I'll try to find sources for this and maybe share it sometime.

well, that is an offensive joke..calling her "pokwang - aswang" anyway if it is just alright with pokwang, i guess, it's not much to deal unto. Too much naughty and jokes brings no good. And i amaze that this alledged jokes of Joey de Leon's gained hits all over the youtube. I am thinking if pokwang will know about this. Will she get hurt. Anyway, if one of them has a good personality, then the issue will be okay.

I guess he is just so insecure with the rising popularity of WOWOWEE and is so affected with the recent issue that their show in Las Vegas was a flop! Para siyang bata na nang-aaway...so unlikely for a tv host( a legend) pa man din to act the way he acts...he should be gentleman enough to mind his actions..millions are watching him everyday.
