Hello, fast eaters including me. Do you know fast eating is bad for digestion? Take your time while you eat. Slow eating is healthier way to eat. Thanks

Thanks SoulFly I'll pass this on to the guys I work with. I am happy to eat slow and enjoy all my food. We often go to lunch together once a week and most of them eat really fast. I am nearly always the last one to finish and I feel under pressure to eat faster.

Heh, I wish it were that easy. Usually when I eat I end up going into some food induced trance that I don't snap out of until someone does it for me. Conscience thoughts usually aren't present when I'm eating, so I'd have difficulty remembering to slow down. I've always known eating slow was healthier, but I'm just so used to eating fast that I don't think I could eat slow.

I absolutely agree with you as doctors admit it scientifically that a specific percentage of your food is digested in your mouth. While you are chewing food in your mouth, saliva mixes with it helping in further digestion to carry out in stomach. There is a specific enzyme present in saliva which I do not know what it is called but it digests a specific percentage of food in your mouth.

I have no choice sometimes, quite used to eating quickly. Anyway, I have kid to look after, don't really have the luxury to eat slowly.

That is absolutely right. I have heard of this before and it is better for the digestion. I think that eating quickly is not a good way to fully enjoy a meal anyway. I usually like to take my time as a rule and savor the meal I am having. There have been times for me that eating too fast just makes me hungrier later. The food probably didn't have the time to digest into my system correctly. We should all take the time to enjoy a lot of things in life and appreciate things.
