What if, you were in situation like this: "You actually delete a very important file from your co-workers computer. And they will never know that it was you who deleted it. Would you confess and have the guts to say it?" Feel free to post! Happy posting!

One with todays OS's have you actually deleted the file or is is sitting in the trash bin which is a recoverable. If I accidentally deleted a file I would not say I would just go to the trash bin and recover the file

What would you do if your computer doesn't have a trash bin, since the administrator of your computer or network defaulted that and deleted that file or has the only access? Would you tell it?

that is a very difficult situation. Although morals might dictate me to tell the truth, the environment might force me to do otherwise. maybe, if thing's have cooled down, I might approach the person and confess, hehe... in the meantime, I'll see if I can undo the damage.

I guess that would definitely cause more problem, when there was a chance to fix it by admitting earlier. but like I said, it's not really that easy.

yeah right! we have to analyze the situation first...but what if we cannot recover the file anymore and we let days to pass by when in fact we could resolve it when we told them earlier? will that cause more problem? what you think?

I don't know if I would or not.I think it would have to depend on who the person was, and how I think they would react. If they were understandable that things like this happen; then I would. If I know there going to go into outrage. Then no way.

But do you think that's being fair, I mean if we told them, we might as well be a help so that they restore the file..or if not, at least we confide to them and just apologize..Do you think that would work? or will it lessen the sin we cause?

I do confess and get my good old Pandora file recovery and recover it for me as well as him. The only time I was at loss for words is when I unexpectedly closed an unsaved file and I was not able to recover. But my friend forgave me and asked to help him to get all the data again. He is so sweet

Good that your friend understand you..it was really sweet and a thoughtful friend...at least she didn't get angry and to diplomatic in asking you to help her again, when in fact she doesn't have to do that since it was your fault... And yes, your right...the best thing we could do is to confess and just be ready with consequences......and somehow maybe we could help them recover the file... Thanks for the post! God bless!

I will confess if I did it.. but, it's easy to recover "deleted" files.. unless you wipe them..
