School supplies

What happened to the good old days when a second grader needed paper, pencils, crayons, ruler, scissors and kleenex? My daughter's must haves included hand sanatizer, ziploc bags, binder, dividers, and wetwipes. Why in the world do classes need bottles of hand sanatizer? They have running water and soap...it worked for me when I was a kid. Is there anyone else that has a school list that makes you scratch your head and wonder what the world is coming to?

Hahaha I never realized this until now. I guess I know the answer. Because these things are now available, then they are already being used. I don't think these things existed in the old days or if they did, they were not affordable.
