Are you nervous when have a blood test?

I am quite a brave girl and I actually really never nervous for blood test. However, i have met a trainee nurse before and she poked a few times complaining she couldn't see my vein! I had bad bruises for many days! After that i am very particular in knowing who are the one going to withdraw my blood. I will ask for a somebody more experienced

I'm like you. I don't get particularly nervous and I'm not scared of it, but I really don't like people poking holes in me. I've also gotten to the point where I don't let them draw blood at the doctor's offices anymore. The people that do it at the offices aren't as good and cause more pain than the people at the labs who get LOTS of practice.

I used to worry about the injection they use, coz it might be HIV-infected, but I am sure now most of the injections they use are safe. I don't like it either coz I might lose some blood during the test. Have a good day.

I don't like having blood drawn because I have bad veins. 8 times out of 10 they have to take blood from the top of my hand because they can't get a vein in my arm to work. My veins are small, they move, and are too far under the skin. It really hurts when they go hunting around in there!

I've had blood takes so many times that it doesn't bother me at all. The thing that does bother me is that they seem to put a metre of tape on afterwards to hold that little piece of cotton. Pulling that off hurts like anything!
