If I won the lottery and offered to donate to a church and they said that to me, I'd tell them they wouldn't have to worry about if that's how they felt and then I'd walk myself and my money right out their door. If I still wanted to help members of the congregation I'd find an alternate way to do it.

That was really rude and a harsh thing to say. I can understand why a church would turn the money down, but they should have done it in a much more polite way. The person should go to a different church if that is how a "man of God" treats the others in the church.

This is weird...a church refusing money...I must be on a different planet! I'm from Philadelphia and the mobsters used to donate tons of money to their local parishes. They got their names put up in lights and were publicly thanked during Sunday Mass. The Archdiocesan heirarchy would come to their houses and break bread with the loan sharks, hitmen, gamblers, pimps, etc, and they would allow known and convicted murderers to be buried in sanctified ground. That was Blood Money. Lottery winnings are desperation money, not the fruits of felonies. Seems weird to me.

must be. im sure they are getting moneys some how illegally at times to. it just erks me that someone out of respect and there own good winnings kindness thought of the church maybe cause they had gotten help from them in the past and wanted to pay them back or just wanted to help them out and was denied. i dont understand the problem. your 100% right must be on a different planet lol. it did not say what church or congregation/religion so who really knows but its just crazy. i dont know i was just looking to see what others thought of this story. thanks for your response. people are getting crazy know a days. no thanks for anything.

That church should be ashamed of themselves. "Blood money"!!! That's just ridiculous. They need to get down off of their moral high horse and open their eyes. Everyone knows God works in mysterious ways. I think the man needs to find a new church home. One that will appreciate someone so generous and thoughtful.

i like your response i thought the same thing. it didnt specify what type of church or congregation so not sure of religion but regardless if some one wonts to help and donate there money now matter how they get it i think they should be able to. I mean come on churches and other organizations are always looking for donations and handouts so why not take what is given(offered to them) i just dont understand the world some times. its seems evil at times.
