And what was it about? I haven't read anything for a while, except comic books! I do have a lot of books I need to read though.

It's not often I get a chance to read, I tend to spend all my time on the computer or at the gym! But on Monday I had to go into hospital for a whole day and I didn't want to be bored, so I took The Beach with me, based on the film The Beach by Alex Garland, well it was a great book to get stuck into, wishing I was at the Beach instead of in the dull hospital. I got through half the book by the time I was allowed home, trouble is since returning I haven't picked it up again, so I must try and finish it, I got to a good bit too!

Finish it! It's a fantastic book. I read it a few years ago and I loved it.

Let's see...I just finished the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray, and it was fantastic and heart breaking. Teenage girl, turn on the century England...she has magical powers and a big destiny...you get the picture. Now I'm reading the second book in that popular Twilight series, New Moon. Apparently I was the last person on earth who hadn't heard of/read it. I'm really enjoying it. Vampires, werewolves, very clumsy girl, accident prone girl...good times!

The last book I finished was Nina Bang's Eternal PLeasure. It is classified as a Paranormal romance novel. It's a light-hearted read about the coming end of time, which was supposed to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar. A new twist to paranormal characters is that the main hero here has a T-rex soul form. Great world-building, and plenty of interesting characters. It is the first book of a series call Gods of the Night, so I'm looking to reading more. I recommend it to any PNR fans, who enjoys witty dialogues, yummy heroes, feisty heroines and action-packed storyline

I'm reading a real hodgepodge of books all at the same time....LOL. For fiction I'm reading the third in the series His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman...that is The Golden Compass series...so the third book is the Amber Spyglass. Also a kid's book that was published in 1967 I just got called Pyewacket (hey how can I resist?) For non-fiction I'm reading James Arthur Ray's Harmonic Wealth, Marci Shimoff's Happy For No Reason and Eckhart Tolle's The Power Of Now... ah--talk about the number of books.. I could start my own library here.

I've nearly finished The Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko. It's the first book of The Night Watch Trilogy and pretty good (better than the film - although I enjoyed that too!) It's about the fight between good and evil and the 'Others' who have supernatural powers. It's not the kind of book I would normally read, but I'm enjoying it.

I am currently reading "Kluge" which is about the human mind and how it is imperfect because of how it evolved. Interesting stuff! Help explains why we are the way we are.

"Churchill and America" by Martin Gilbert Churchill's mother Jennie nee Jerome was an American from a wealthy family and he made more than a dozen trips to America during his long and much traveled life. He was proud to consider himself half-American. I read mostly history and serious biography. I focus especially on Churchill and on Tudor England but I've read widely on other parts of the world.

I had finished reading a thriller/ horror by David Ambrose and the title is "A Memory of Demons", just recently. Last week, I've started on another thriller, "Grotesque" by Natsuo Kirino (translated from Japanese to English by Rebecca Copeland). However, I've just done reading 160 pages out of the 467 pages, still a long way to go, since I've been busy this whole week and have got no time to continue reading. Perhaps I'll be able to finish it in another week time. Anyway, I love to read Japanese manga (comic)too.

I am currently reading "A Generous Orthodoxy" by Brian McLaren. It deals with many issues concerning faith, God, and the differences Christians encounter. McLaren is a bit controversial in some of his beliefs which is what attracted me to the book. McLaren talks about his upbringing in his Faith, and how far he has come in regards to Faith. It has definitely made me question things in terms of why I believe what I believe.
