Obama's family tree is complicated, that is for sure. Barack Obama Sr. sure know how to marry just not how to keep a wife. Yeah I can hear it know, well what about McCain, well what about peddlers of piffle. So you ask about my family tree, well I cannot much about because I do not know much about it. I know that my family is Jewish, from Germany, that immigrant to America around the first part of the 1900, before WWI. I know that in my family tree that I am a fifth cousin of former Senator Tim Hutchinson, former Congressmen Asa Hutchinson, and former head football coach for the Razorbacks Houston Nutt. I am also related Mayer Amschel Rothschild the patriarch of the Rothschild banking clan. Do not ask me how I am related to those gentlemen I just know I am.

The primary branch of my family tree comes from the lowest, poorest Dutch peasants. They were so poor and of such no account, there was absolutely nothing to keep them in the Netherlands so they came to the USA about 1900. On the other side of the tree there is a limb that is full blooded Cherokee. That's an interesting story.

I forgot to add that I am related to absolutely no one famous, rich, or anything else. My wife is related to the famous Commodore Perry who defeated the British Navy on the Great Lakes way back when. War of 1812?

Goodness me! His family tree has more branches than a mid-western Rotary Group?? lol. At least one would hope that if he DOES end up President then all of these cultural influences and inter-family experiences will come in handy is some way or another! As it stated in the article posted, half-siblings from more than one marriage is not a first for a President or candidate; but this is certainly a whole new precedent! As for my own family tree; on my Mother's side my Grandmother has been able to trace the family's history back to smugglers running operations over the English Channel in the early 1600's..... My surname is of Welsh origin but my Grandmother's maiden name on my Father's side was traced back to Germany; but only a short distance before the leads went cold! I do not know any more than this on my Father's side.

In this modern day of international travel, all humans will soon be at least 20th cousins to each other. Than maybe the earth can be one big happy family? On no! The earth is doomed. We are going to be fighting like family!

Quote from the article: "Soetoro-Ng said during a 2004 interview, describing Obama's 1992 wedding. "I remember his wedding. And there were everything from the very fair Kansas complexion, you know, the Scots-Irish thing, to the blue-black Kenyan. And we looked like the rainbow tribe -- and me in between. I'm Indonesian. . . . The united colors. Never a dull moment, right?" The "rainbow tribe." What an interesting family Obama has!

Truely, Obama does come from a family of the world. President McCain should seriously consider appointing Senator Obama to be Ambassador to the United Nations.

well...I cant say much my own is a mess....lol. I have 9 half brothers and sisters. and I have 2 children by 2 different marriages each. Guess its a good thing I am not into politics cause I am sure my family has its fair share of dirt. Not many people plan to throw in the towel but it takes two people to make it work and believe me I tried long after my marriage had come to an end before and after the divorce to sort things out but if the other party is unwilling there isn't much you can do about it.

A good friend of mine, after his divorce, told me of the measures he had taken to save his marriage. I was amazed he put up with so much and was willing to endure so long. This gives me an idea of what you might mean. I love my wife of 36 years very much, but if she were to do certain things, it would be over. Same for her towards me.
