Whew.. our Philippine team which compete at the Beijing Olympics are done with their mission. But we got a 1 gold medal that won through the WUSHU. were proud of having ti, even if its only an exhibition game in the Olympics and the medal doesn't reflect to the official records or medal tally. But, Still we do have one.Proud to be a Filipino

That's the point. If only the athletes got their full support from the government and not just rely on NGO's, our athletes could have done well. Filipinos are really survivors in every challenge that they've been. Win or lose, we still stand tall. That's the true Filipino spirit. HUGZ!

Good day.. I agree better having a gold than none. I'm proud of our athletes despite the odds and lack of support form our government (again) they've managed and standing tall. True blue blooded Filipinos ( a survivor).

Wow congratualtions hindichinese. I'm sad I missed the wushu, I don't have a tv at the moment and am only getting to see some of the olympics, I didn't realise wushu was in it. I love wushu, when was that on? What a great sport to win in as well - very entertaining and interesting, did they just have 2 people fighting each other with wushu? Or did they do displays? How did it work?

Thanks hindichinese - I see that it is something being held over the olympics until tomorrow (I wonder if my sister may get to record some of it!) Maybe next time it will be an olympic sport?

Well I did not know that! Sorry that I can't even watch the Olympics in the TV coz I'm arriving home too late at night and I have to do lots of preparations for my family. Thank you anyway for posting it here. At least I know. And that is really something to rejoice about even that is only an exhibition game. It goes to show that at we have the ability to get a gold. It makes me proud for our athletes there. At least they set a record on their own. I salute them and I give them a high five!!!

Congratulations to your country for their achievement. It's so wonderful and heartfelt to watch all these amazing athletes compete in all these events. Once in a blue moon everyone can set aside their differences and enjoy these events and be proud of their country. I find it very exciting and moving and, as a parent, I can feel the pride that other parents must feel when their children achieve their dream of not only competing in the Olympics, but winning a medal.

Oh! So thats where the gold came from. Ive been hearing that the country was successful in acquiring a gold medal but I really didnt believe. Ive read the updates just to confirm and it confirms my belief that the country still has no gold. I wasnt able to be updated on the news lately that im really oblivious about all of it. Well, thanks for this post. At least I knew that the country really did get a gold. Its just not counted. But still a gold is a gold.

Really, that is nice. Although we don't win a lot. I know that our athletes are doing their best to win. If they lose that is part of the game. We will just hope for the best in the next Olympic games. Proud to be Pinoy!

Congrats to you as filiphino and the athlete. So the athlete will become a rich person in your country. My country do the same. Get 1 gold medal from badminton. I'm very happy and proud for that. And especially that in badminton games our athele can get three medal, the gold, the silver and the bronze. It very perfect for the badminton athlete of my country. The gold winner will get 1 billion in Indonesian money. So I hope filiphino will have a more good athlete in the future years later and my country does too. So let's see the next olympic's games. how much gold medal will our country get.
