common japanese words used in anime

okay, lets list the common words that we frequently hear in the anime... let me start off, here's my list: ohayou!(good morning) konnichiwa (hello/ good afternoon) baka! (stupid - i hear this a lot) chotto matte (wait) wakatteiru (i [already] know) ano.. (uhmm..) suki.. ( sometimes said as a shortcut for "i like you/ i love you") demo.. - (but..) Yoshi! (when starting a task) gambaru ne!/ ganbatte ne (do your best!)

Here there is some that I use to hear.. bijin - a beautiful woman. daijoubu - O.K. kami - God, god Urusai! - Shut up! Yare yare - Well well. Itetetetete! - Ow ow ow ow! So ka/So desu ka - Really? Is that so? Daijobu? - Are you alright? Kokoro - Heart. Mina - Everyone. Zutto - Always/For a long time/a lot Dakara - Therefore/because/so

thanks for the information. By th way, i really like to say "urusai" and "sou desu ka".. its fun when you try to imitate the anime characters right?..

That's a great idea! I never thought that way! I really wanna test my spoken japanese and were I live there is no one that even know the language.. but what are you saying is a great way to practice.. to use common anime words to ask questions and to reply.. you regularly do this?

yes, i use them always.. "dame" is really my favorite word. I use it as "no way!".. hehehe.. and "sou na no?" as "is that so?".. and also "kowai yo" as "im scared!".. lol.. its fun to use them on normal conversations.

Hello fellow anime fan ... let me add to your list I also hear a lot of Onegaishimasu - Please Dou Ahou (Idiot) Arigatou Gozimasu (Thank you - more formal) Doumo (Thank you - less formal) Irasshai - Welcome Hajimemashite - Please to meet you Hee.. that's all I can think of now.

Oh damn, I joined this discussion, with intentions of adding something, but looks like you all wrote all the words I have in mind. xD Well, at least now I have a Glossary of Anime words.. Maybe I can start a conversation in japanese with'em! :D

I think that you can learn this language, it's not my inborn culture to speak that language, my born language is Spanish and I'm learning Japanese without any problem.. you should try it setsujin

I've to laugh - many of those words are also used on jdramas... and yeah, little words which kinda "burn into your mind" - and yeah, you already can start a conversation with those. hahaha... Once I said to a friend "baka" (stupid person, idiot,..) and didn't realize that I just used a japanese word. She asked me: Hu? What? And I said... what what? lol... Oh well... and I don't watch that much anime.. I'm more a jdrama watcher - but there are a lot of great anime movies which wait for me to get watched (lol, this sound stupid)

I know the word sit very well in japaneese from watching the raw subtitled inuyasha'a LOL!! but I couldn't spell it to save my life. But your right I saw some of these and was like I know that.. After watching tons of animee you kinda end up learning alot of the words. LOL!!!
