What happens if we dont get enough sleep?

Many suggested that we must have enough amount of sleep and rest for energy and benefits our mind and body and essential for rejuvenation but what do you think happens if we dont get enough sleep? 1. Im sure you know we will feel tired and sleepy (drowsiness) 2. oww that awful dark ring under the eyes (eyebags) :) 3. trouble concentrating 4. irritability 5. risk for fall and accident 6. lower productivity 7. risk for having cancer yes, there are studies conclude that stress can cause cancer so how much sleep do we need? -8-10 hours of sleep is enough more than that our body will produce lactic acid in the muscles which can lead to muscle aches ( I know, i experience that ahehe :) ) -but the rule of thumb is we have to consider how we normally feel after we slept. - feel refresh - alert - focus but to sum it up we all do need rest and sleep and sleep requirements differs highly in different individual and many factors such as - age and genetic makeup - what do we do in waking hours and exercise - quality of sleep and environment - illness or disease that alter sleep patterns hope you enjoy bits of info thanks and have a nice sleep to ya'll

If I lack sleep..I get irritated right away.I have a very short patience esp. in my line of work (in a call center)..most of the time we go home super mega over stressed out due to the customers concerns and our schedule changes after few months. thanks for the comment miss, i know lot of person experience that i mean a lot especially those in line with your work, but have you tried to do some exercise? this can be a great solution for you i think, not only youl get fit and beautiful, I promise once youve done workout, you'll get the feeling of relief of your super mega over stress hehehe and it helps you sleep too... hope it helps... thanks again

Thanks for the comment.If I lack of sleep I get a terrible migraine as well.I don't have time to exercise but I'd love to try that.I want to enrol in a gym but it will cost me a lot but I'd love to have dumb bells so that I can do exercise at home.

Thanks for that! With what you said was really true and correct. But unfortunately I really sleep not much because of my work,it's very toxic. I was thinking to resign and look for another job. Anyway it's not obeouse that I lack sleep,cause I'm gaining waight hahaha! Anyway have a nice day friend!God bless!

Hi friend... Musta? When I cant get enough sleep, it seems that my face became smaller, and my skin is not that fine.. (dont know why....), and the worst is I feel vomiting... OMG, that's why I see to it that I have 8 hrs of sleep... But may I ask you a question mr.nurse, why it seems that I feel like vomitting when I can't get enough sleep... Am i seek? What do you think?

If we dont get enough sleep then we dont have enough energy to perform our duties and task. We cant have a focus of mind and concentration in our work. Appetite will be poor. And skin will be pale.

if i don't get enough sleep, of course i feel sleepy on the next day & also there's a tendency that i'm having a headache or i don't have a focus on my work. by the way thanks for sharing some info..

hi thanks for the interesting information about sleep. i usually don't get enough sleep on working days. i try to make it up during the weekends though. well i know for sure that metabolism will drop. end result will be weight gain. chronic lack of sleep also causes memory loss. another bad thing from not enough sleep will be the inability to focus. that is really bad for drivers as a split-second is enough to cause an accident. cheers ;p

Hi alecz23, I just want to add up something. If we dont get enough sleep one factor also is the occurrence of pimples and acne on our face. There are some people that are prone to this matter. We should always sleep early to avoid this problems. Having an 8 hour sleep is enough for our body to relieve from stress. Take note also that too much sleep is also bad for our system.
