I used to have many pairs of earrings but I lost most of them. Now I just have one pair. How many pairs of earrings do you have?

I seriously do not know how many pairs of earrings I have. When I was younger, I had at least 4 piercings in each ear but now I've toned it down to just the "normal" one per ear. I even had to go to a doctor to have an earring stuck in my lobe removed. But that was just once! Once! I used to buy a pair of earrings in each little town that I visit and until now, I would know where I bought most of my earrings. But now that I really haven't gone anywhere, the number of earrings that I have is at a standstill.

I have never heard of having to have removed an earring stuck in one's lobe. I didn't know that they could get stuck in there. I don't tend to buy earrings and other things in other cities because I don't get to travel very much. But, at least you have those earrings to remember where you've been.

I'm not judging. I just never heard of that happening. Was it hard to get the clutch out? Yikes!

It's actually not the earring itself but the clutch. Somehow the clutch got inside the piercing hole. Don't judge, I was young then. :)

I probably have close to 100. Unfortunately, most of them I can't wear. After I already bought several pairs of earrings, I discovered I am allergic to 18K gold and also allergic to silver. So I cannot wear any of them. But I have a few pairs that I bought recently in PTFE (Teflon), nylon, acrylic, glass, and titanium.

Allergies are horrible. I probably spent $5,000 minimum on earrings because I was buying 18K gold mostly. But if I stretch my ears a bit more I'll be able to coat the 18K gold in plastic and wear them again I think. So at least it's not a total waste. I have a bunch of food allergies too and I hate that. I'm just thankful I'm not allergic to all of my pets (only a few).

Yikes! I'm glad that you found a way that you might still be able to wear your 18 K gold earrings. I would hate for all that money to go to waste. Me, I sneeze and cough a lot with my allergies. I am on Claritin now.

That is too bad that you have so many pairs of earrings that you can't wear. But, at least you have found a few that you can wear. I know that having allergies is really tough. I just got diagnosed with severe allergies recently, myself. It's not fun.

I don't have any earrings, but I do have my ears pierced, I just don't like wearing them.

I totally understand that. I actually rarely wear earrings anymore. Most earrings just don't feel "right" to me for some odd reason. I am actually quite picky when it comes to wearing earrings. Maybe someday you'll find a pair that feels "right" to you as well.

Hi, Nonew! I find this a rather disturbing question, because it made me reaize what a silly thing I've done. One of the things I've been doing for many years to make extra money is making jewelry. I make a lot of custom things, and I have sold my stuff very successfully by doing craft shows on the weekends. y health has caused me to put it away for the last couple of years, so I have thousands of pairs of earrings! So why do I wear the same ones all the time? And they're not even earrings I made! I think you've motivated me to sort through the stuff the next time there's a day off and start to vary my earring wardrobe. Who knows, I might even be able to sell some? Maybe I'll take out some necklaces and bracelets, too. OK, so it's really a positive disturbance. I just hung a note by the computer to remind me to go through the rest of this room -- my computer and my jewelry equipment are in the same troom. All those machines just gather dust, and the jewelry itself is all packed up in boxes. Thanks for making me consider taking it out and doing something with it. I may not be strong enough to manipulate the gold and silver and stones well these days, but I can wear and sell what's in inventory!

I'm glad that I've motivated you to consider how much you have of certain things. For me anyway, I have way too much of certain things because I forget just how many I have, and then I end up buying more. Before I know it, my tiny little studio apartment is too crowded with those things. I can see how it would be easy to have an awful lot of earrings after a while, especially if someone had been very busy making them at one time. Do let me know how it goes after you get done sorting through your earrings and other things. I am curious.

Thanks. I'll do that. I wonder why I didn't think of the jewelry instead of noodling around the internet for ways to make more money? I'm going to go for both!

In High School I pierced my ears a total of 12 times. I kept earrings in most of them, but now I don't. Most of the holes are probably closed up. Off the top of my head I would say I have 5 pairs of earrings. Maybe 6.

12 piercings is a lot. But, I bet it was a lot of fun to have earrings in every single one of those holes. 5 or 6 pairs is a decent number or earrings. :o)

I used to have a lot of earrings, but now I rarely wear them because I don't like the way my ears feel at the end of the day after wearing them. I only have 2 pairs right now.

I am curious what it is about earrings that makes your ears sore.

I believe I have about 5 or 6 pairs. I don't have too many because I don't really wear any of them that much anymore.

I'm the same way. I usually forget to wear them. Eventually they get lost because of non-use. So, in that case, I'm better off not owning very many pairs of earrings.

I agree that having pierced ears is an awful lot of fun because of the wide variety of earrings available in this world. I don't think I've ever owned hoops, myself. Butterfly earrings do sound very cute, though!
