What sort of bed do you sleep in?

Silly question, perhaps, but I'd be interested to see all the different sorts of answers. I am currently sleeping on the floor. Since I moved into my new apartment, I haven't been able to afford a bed. I have a couch, but won't sleep on it, because that leaves my son to sleep on the floor on his own and somehow that doesn't seem fair to me. I will admit though, I'm a bit jealous of all of you that have a bed. LOL. So what kind should I be jealous of? A sleigh bed, a waterbed, a pull out couch, an air mattress? What do you sleep on?

I sleep on a bed of nails, well, it feels like it. We are currently but temporarily living in employee housing for the people who work the winter season in Breckenridge, CO. The beds are terrible, its a thin plastic back breaker bunk bed. The couch is just as bad, my mini van has more comfortable seats! We went camping last week and we upgraded to an air matress :) But alas it was back to the spinebuster 2000. Only 6 more weeks and it has to get better, at least that's what I keep telling my poor back. I guess I can't complain Ms. carpet masher, you've got us all beat.

We have a queen size waterbed. With Hubby's back problems we have to have it and I'll admit that I sleep wonderfully on it...much better than in a regular bed. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

LOL We've had ours for about 5 years now. For awhile we just had a regular mattress in it b/c of where we were living but now it's filled with water like it should be. My youngest brother has one too although his is a California King and it's in storage right now. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I slept in a waterbed until I moved into this apartment. I thought my ex was the only person that still owned one, but I guess not. LOL.

I have a select comfort bed. It's like an air mattress that allows you to select your comfort level. (Like the three bears LOL: too hard, too soft etc). It makes it just right for your body. Best thing there is that if you are sleeping with another; their side is independently adjustable. Very, very cool. Very comfortable and helps with couples.

I sleep on an air mattress right now. So does my mother and my siblings. My younger brother sleeps with me in the air mattress. It's kind of cool but it tends to go down on one side so I like to sleep around the middle.

Believe me I know what you are taling about. I've slept on a sofa and on the floor, I think, years ago. I've slept on cots, huge double beds and ratty single beds. Right now where I rent I sleep on a single bed that must be over 20 years old, has wooden boards beneath the mattress to keep things up and a lot of the wire strings are busted. I used to have a big queen-sized bed but this one leaves me a lot more room in my room-rental. So there you are.

Believe it or not, I sleep on the floor too. I sleep on a hardwood floor and it's really cool. I feel more comfortable sleeping on the floor than on my bed. Hahaha.. weird huh?

wow that brings me back. when i moved into my first apartment me and my then 5 year old son slept on the floor for about two months. three blankets and a sheet is all we had. and i tell you it was some of the best sleep i ever got. it was my own place. a place for just the two of us and we were so happy. of course now 13 years later i am sleeping in a regular bed. nothing fancy, but i have one of those down mattress covers and i tell you it is so comfortable!! you will have your bed soon, don't you worry

I'm sorry you don't have a bed. I sleep on a four poster bed. It took me many years to be able to get what I wanted.

Hello kbourgerie, Ouch! Sorry to read that you are not sleeping on a bed... yet. I hope things get better financially for you and you can afford one very soon. And a very nice, comfortable bed at that! I am fortunate to be sleeping on a bed which my parents bought for me. To be honest, I don't know what material it is made of. For your current situations, would cushions help? Cushions can be bought for relatively cheap here - or you can make them yourself if you can find the material and are good with a needle. Else, how about just a mattress? Mattresses can be had for relatively little here too (I am not sure but $10-20?) if one is not too fussy. I thought you would be able to rest better through the night if you have at least a mattress on the floor, even if you have no bed frame to put it on. Lastly my friend, don't be jealous. Life is an experience, enjoy the ride! Without the "bad", you can't appreciate and savor fully the good when it is finally arrived (soon!).

They say that "Rome wasn't built in a day". What they really meant to say, is it will take a while to furnish an apartment. LOL.

We had a really terrible bed for a long time (the stuffing was coming out and it had a dip in the middle that my hubby and I would both fall in to. We recently splurged and bought a 4 seasons bed (which was 75% off!) and we absolutely love it! Pure luxury.

I have an old iron bed.. I saw it a a local flea market one day and wanted it so bad.. We painted it a pure white color and I think that it looks good in the bedroom.. Now as for our mattress, it came over on the Ark and we really do need to get another one.. The bed hurts my back, so when I wake up and my back is hurting, I go to the couch.. Hope you get your bed soon, I would sleep on the floor and give the couch to my son also.. Have a great evening..

I used to have an antique iron bed with hand painted porcelain balls on the headboard and foot. I don't remember what happened to it though. Wish I had it now.

Hi kb I have a Simmons Beauty Rest, Worldclass. When we bought it, it was not cheap, but worth every penny. I have spinal stenosis, lower lumbar region. This bed is the only surface that gives me relief. I hope you don't have to sleep on the floor for long. I think you should sleep on the couch till you get a bed. Remember, his back is younger than yours, and boys often like to sleep on the floor. Enjoy your new home. leenie

Even though it might have been expensive, I'm sure you were thrilled with your purchase. And yes, I know, his back is stronger than mine, it just makes me feel so guilty somehow.

Well don't be jealous, you'll get a bed when you can. I just got a new bed 3 months ago. Before that I was sleeping, but barely on a broken down bed with springs coming through it, holes in it. Now I have a great new Queen sized bed with a really comfortable mattress and box spring. I saved up for a long time until I was able to get one and shopped around until I found a really nice comfortable one in my price range. It was worth the wait!

Japan Futon - Japanese Futon
I sleep in a Normal Single sized bed. It's soft, comfortable and it has my favorite stuffed toys, pillow, bolster and blanket on it. My brother sleeps on the floor. He used to have a bed but he broke it. His mattress is laid on the floor now. It's similar to Japanese way of sleeping. Japanese sleeps on futon.

We sleep on a King size bed, its one of those pillow top mattresses, its comfortable enough, we got it when we first got married that was 5 yrs. ago and already its starting to bowl in the middle, I always roll in the middle of it..lol. We don't have it on a frame or anything, we just have it sitting on the floor, the box springs and everything, my husband says its better on his back, he likes a firm mattress, because he has back problems. We've been talking about getting one of those tempurpedic mattresses, but I imagine their expensive.
