Remember the days when you had coupons that were 50 cents or even 1.00 off? They were so great to have when the store offered double off on the coupons. Now you get coupons for 55 cents that say NOT TO BE DOUBLED and the same goes for the 1.00 off coupons. In todays economy you would think that the coupon industry would realize that more people would be willing to use coupons like that. Food manufactures would benfit as well. DCMerkle

Here in the UK,Tesco Clubcard's monthly cashback vouchers on your previous month's spend has a double up "Offers" feature on their partners products, which can be more useful than the simple cashback the voucher entitles you to in store..Some coupons are better than others..one UK consumer site that I use,www.pigsback.com, has various shopper related offers-last week,I found a coupon for a free litre bottle of a New fruit Smoothie on the market here! There's also an instore electronic bill paying service, called "Paypoint"..You can use it to pay your utility bills, and now they've started offering E-coupons for shopping! You join up on their site (Pigsback had a link which I used) and they'll send you a text message to your cellphone with a membership ID barcode which the cashier scans and then can offer you the coupon value off the items that another weekly text message informs you is available that week! I've yet to try this one out,but it seems like a good Idea..

I have just about quit using coupons since store brands are cheaper than name brands even with doubled coupons.

There aren't (almost) any coupons in my country at all, so I don't know about them very much. I'm a member of Freebie Force, and there are time to time reprintable coupons available. I'm hearing my American co-members speaking about them but I can't use them, of course. Why I added "almost" to my first sentence: in a supermarket I'm visiting they're sometimes offering a deal: buy for 800 EEK (about 80 USD) today, and get a coupon which next time will give you 100 EEK rebate. Well, I never did buy so much at the same time! Some shops are offering also marks for some special products, and if you have collected, let's say, 200 marks during two months, you'll get something for free or rebate for something. I've never used this chance either.

i seldom use coupons just because the store brand is often cheaper still than the product would be with the coupon on the name brand. its often cheaper just to go with the store brand. i wish they would do something of that sort.

Most places when they double coupons only do it up to a dollar anyway. I was in a store yesterday that had triple coupons but since I didnt know about it, I was unprepared. I ahte when stuff like that happens. The one store near us doesnt even have the stuff the coupons are for. You basically ahve to take what you can get.

What stores still double? None of the ones in our area even have a double coupon day. I have found a few coupons, like free cat treats, or $5 off a bag of cat food (that only cost $9 to begin with). Today I redeemed 2 coupons for a free loaf of bread.

those were the good days. now its 1.00 off only if you buy 2 or sometimes even 3. same goes for 50 cents off. so wheres the deal in that. its always something you never need two or three of too. no more double coupon days either. i think in todays economy its something they need to bring back for them to make money and for us to save money

Yeah, I wish we could find more coupons -- not to mention good ones like from the good old days. Often now you have to have a card from the store to use coupons (which some stores charge you to get and others don't). "Half off" coupons, what I'd give to find more half off coupons for stores in our area! I don't know, the economy's got alot of companies in a panic. Especially mass distributors. =(

I hate it when coupons say not to double. I usually will use these at Walmart because the prices there are cheaper than the grocery store. I also remember when my grocery store would double $1 coupons, so I would always use them and get $2 off. Now they only double to 99cents!

I am in canada where the coupons are written differently but they state cannot be used with any other promotion or only one per customer type of thing. It is frustrating but at least the stores let me buy an item on sale and still use the coupon. Like a week ago this laundry soap was on sale for 2.90 off the regular price and I had a 2.00 coupon for it and they used it saving me 4.90 off which I thought was pretty good. When you got three kids laundry is a daily occurrence. LOL I use coupons all the time. For us canadians there is a site called save.ca which has pretty good coupons. Like the other day I got a free razor that was $9.00, splenda which was $10.00 and nearly free only $2.00 for iams cat food which is usually 9.00. That is pretty good. I also use the cents off ones cause each penny adds up. Though I would love to double the coupons I still will clip clip clip. LOL

I don't find nearly as many good coupons as I did before. I use them anyway though if they are for something that I was planning on buying anyway. Even if it is only 15 cents off. Not very many stores double them anymore at all either.
