Why no deo during mammograms?

I think its because an ingredient used in deodorants interferes with how the test is done if you are wearing it.

I think it's just another chemical, or something, and that they want the body to be clean of any outside substances, for whatever reason. Deo always leaves something behind, and they probably want to keep the machines clean. I have never had a mammogram, but I would imagine it has something to do with keeping their machines clean and running smoothly.

All I could find while doing a search was that they "interfere with the test". I saw something about aluminum chloride in antiperspirants, so that could be it. They also make you remove any metals from that area, too. So, just the proximity of the metals could throw off the test results. I would hate to think I might have cancer just because I was wearing deodorant that day! It's really ironic that I came across this post when I did because tomorrow (Tuesday) I have a mammogram scheduled. I don't wanna go!!!!! Honestly, I don't even think about the deodorant issue because I'm too busy dreading the squishing part of it! OUCH!!!!!!
